Topic clusters by sector

Sector pages elsewhere on this site describe industries one at a time. Clusters do something different: they gather everything relevant to one sector into a single reading list, so that someone who has just been handed responsibility for merchandise in retail or tourism can see the whole spread of decisions in one place rather than discovering them one search at a time.

What a cluster contains

A cluster is a sector seen from the merchandise side rather than the operations side. It collects the product decisions typical of that sector, the calendar it has to work with, the compliance that applies to it and the failure modes people in it hit most often. Retail runs on a seasonal calendar with large promotional volumes. Financial services run on controlled giveaways with strict approval and value limits. Tourism runs on multilingual delivery and a season that does not align with the northern calendar.

Two clusters cover the general corporate case, in English and in Spanish, for readers who have no specific sector to start from. The rest are sector-specific and written for the person who has just inherited that sector’s merchandise budget.

What each cluster covers

  • The calendar. When the sector’s year actually starts, and which dates cannot move.
  • Product shape. What is typically ordered, in what quantities and with what decoration.
  • Compliance. The rules that apply to that sector, and where the obligations actually sit.
  • Approval. Who signs, and why approval chains are longer in some sectors than others.
  • Failure modes. What goes wrong most often, described plainly.
  • The working references. Guides, templates and playbooks specific to that sector.

What we are not

Corp-Merch.MX is an independent production workshop for corporate merch, uniforms and business gifting, invoicing to SAT under CFDI 4.0. Sector clusters describe how merchandise programmes generally work; they do not describe any individual company and are not an endorsement of one. We are not an official partner, sponsor or approved supplier of any company or brand named on this page.
