Employee anniversary: the piece an employee keeps fifteen years later

An employee anniversary is not celebrated with an automated email. It is celebrated with a tangible item the employee recognises when they clean their desk, open the closet, or pull the box out to show their children. When the piece is properly curated —with a Mexican producer, an engraved plate with their name and years of service, a rigid box with foil seal— it becomes the object the employee looks at most in the years that follow. We work with corporates in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Querétaro, Puebla, Mérida, San Luis Potosí, León, Tijuana and the rest of the country. We invoice under CFDI 4.0 with the SAT and handle multi-site delivery with Carta Porte 3.0 supplement when the shipment is on our account.

Curation by tenure milestone

Five years

The first meaningful milestone. Kraft box with ribbon closure, corporate seal in foil, containing a hand-bound notebook with the anniversary mark, a rollerball pen engraved with the employee name, a metal pin with the number five. For operations and plant employees we add an engraved steel thermos and a reflective strap on the box. Runs from 80 pieces with 15 business day production.

Ten years

Second milestone where the piece becomes a keepsake. Rigid box with textile lining, anniversary seal in gold foil, containing a leather wallet tanned in León with hot-stamping of the employee name and years, A5 hand-bound notebook, metal pen of an edition, card with a message from the managing director. For commercial and executive teams we add a professional-use piece.

Fifteen and twenty years

Mid-career milestones where the piece becomes heritage. Rigid box with anniversary seal in gold or silver foil per corporate guidelines, containing a premium object curated with a Mexican producer from Oaxaca, Puebla or Yucatán, an engraved plate with the employee name, years of service and corporate logo, metal pin with the milestone number, a handwritten letter from the managing director, and when applicable an 8x10 framed photograph of the employee.

Twenty-five, thirty and retirement

Long milestones and career closing. Premium box with a unique object curated with a prestigious Mexican producer or artist, an engraved plate with the name, years and career arc, a personal-use object (watch, silver jewellery from Taxco, limited-edition pen), a video message from the managing director to the employee, and for retirees a delivery protocol with dinner at the board meeting or an event with the employee's family.

Mexican labour framework and tax deductibility

In Mexico, tenure recognition is not regulated by the Federal Labour Law as a mandatory benefit. What is regulated is the seniority premium (twelve days of salary per year of service, applicable only on justified dismissal, voluntary separation after fifteen years, or voluntary retirement), the year-end bonus (minimum fifteen days) and social welfare benefits. Tenure recognition operates with internal budget from the Human Resources area, the internal communications directorate, or the Corporate Social Responsibility committee.

When the corporate delivers the recognition as a social welfare expense, the invoice is issued as deductible under CFDI 4.0 and the 16% VAT transferred can be credited. When delivered as a marketing or internal communications expense, the deduction operates under the general expenses regime. We coordinate with the corporate finance area to classify each item correctly and to ensure the invoice is supported by the service contract, the internal purchase order and the receipt acknowledgement signed by the employee.

Multi-site delivery and consolidation

For corporates with operations across Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey and the rest of the country, we run multi-site delivery with CFDI per site and Carta Porte 3.0 supplement when the shipment is on our account. Consolidation happens at our CEDIS in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico, and from there we distribute to each site with parcel tracking, coded list and signature from the HR lead on arrival. For industrial operations inside industrial parks with restricted access, we coordinate delivery with the security department and the site HR area.

For employees receiving the recognition at the board meeting, at a formal event with the managing director, or at dinner with their family, we deliver the box with protocol to the corporate or to the event venue, coordinating with the maître and the protocol staff. For employees receiving the recognition at their home address for retirement or relocation, we ship with parcel tracking, signature of the addressee and prior notification to the employee's email.

Programme, costs and MOQ

Five-year recognition — from MXN $985 before VAT per unit on a run of 80 pieces. Ten-year recognition — from MXN $1,485 on a run of 50. Fifteen and twenty-year recognition — from MXN $2,485 on a run of 30. Twenty-five and thirty-year recognition — from MXN $3,985 on a run of 15. Retirement recognition with protocol — from MXN $5,985 on a run of 5 pieces. MOQ adjusts to the milestone and the corporate budget; for annual programmes we negotiate a fixed price and recurring production with the milestone calendar.

The booking closes with a six-point brief: anniversary milestone, number of employees per site, delivery regions, corporate guidelines palette, card or letter message when applicable, and required personalised pieces. With those inputs we produce a three-piece pilot for approval before the full run, allowing validation of colour, typography, engraving and curation without rework risk. Final delivery is coordinated with the HR lead at each site and documented with a receipt photo and employee signature.

Frequently asked questions

Can you handle pieces curated with a Mexican producer?

Yes — we curate with producers of wine, distillate, honey, chocolate, ceramics, textiles, jewellery and folk art objects from Oaxaca, Chiapas, Jalisco, Puebla, Michoacán, State of Mexico, Yucatán, Guanajuato and Mexico City. The curation adjusts to the milestone budget and to the recognition type.

Can you produce a video from the managing director for the employee?

Yes — we produce the video in coordination with the corporate communications department and upload it to a secure URL personalised per addressee. For retirees we add a family photo or career photograph when the employee authorises it in writing.

Can you deliver at the board meeting or a formal event?

Yes — we run delivery logistics with coded list, individual packaging and hand-over during the event. We coordinate with the venue maître and the master of ceremonies so the moment is captured by the corporate photo and video team.

Is Corp-Merch an official partner of any producer or labour authority?
