Salon Q-1: the main hall of the Queretaro Convention Centre where an OEM from the Bajio sets up its stand before the European press reaches the airport
Salon Q-1 is the main hall of the Queretaro Convention Centre, on the industrial corridor at the Celaya exit: 7,200 square metres of column-free floor, 11 metres of clear ceiling height, 4 flush-level loading docks, an adjacent press room with 60 working positions, a foyer with capacity check-in for 1,200 people, two manoeuvring yards for up to 18-tonne trailers, and dedicated fibre for live press. It is where the Bajio Aerospace Expo, the IMMEX Supplier Fair, the annual conventions of the OEMs with plants in Apaseo el Grande and San Luis Potosi, the earnings presentations of the auto groups with BMV/NYSE dual listings and the USMCA compliance forums with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers run.
What separates Salon Q-1 from other Bajio venues is not the 12-metre linear screen (which is run from the mezzanine technical cabin), but the coordination an industrial corporate set-up requires: the exhibitor kit must reach the dock in a 6-hour window, go up on the stand before the civil protection inspector arrives, be handed over signed to the plant manager, and let the trade journalist (El Financiero, Bloomberg Linea, Reforma, Expansion or Nicolas Alvarado from the Detroit wire) file the story live from the press room with full documentation, stand photos and announcement video. The merch cannot get in the way of the coverage or delay the technical press from entering the hall.
