Salon L-2: the room where the customs broker signs the USMCA pedimento and the operator kit lands before the export declaration
Salon L-2 is a customs operations room on the northern border corridor (Nuevo Laredo, Ciudad Juarez, Tijuana, Reynosa, Matamoros): 65-inch touchscreen with the VUCEM system, 14 pedimento capture stations in a horseshoe, video conferencing to SAT and the customs office, oval table for sessions with the accredited customs broker, waiting room for importers, dock with restricted hours, cold room for samples. Monthly customs operations meetings of IMMEX operations run here, along with weekly pedimento reviews, USMCA compliance committees with accredited broker presence, briefings with destination brokers in the US and Canada, and month-end sessions with the master broker. What sets Salon L-2 apart is not the staging (which is technical and contained) but the document traceability: every merch piece has to land signed for by the receiving operator, exit with the warehouse control sheet, and let the pedimento close without merch logistics slowing the validation.
