Salon L-1: the room where the Bajio IMMEX operations director closes the monthly review and the operator's kit lands before the scrap report

Salon L-1 is an operations room in the heart of the Bajio industrial cluster: a 75-inch touchscreen with the MES dashboard, backup projector, 22 monitoring stations in a horseshoe, video conferencing linking the Saltillo and Reynosa plants, coffee service from the campus kitchen, freight dock with night-window hours, retro projector for route mapping. Monthly operations reviews of the Bajio's IMMEX plants (Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes) run here, along with weekly scrap reviews, safety committees with STPS presence, briefings with the destination OEM in the US, and month-end sessions with the regional CFO. What sets Salon L-1 apart is not the staging (which is technical and contained) but the traceability: every merch piece has to land signed for by the receiving operator, exit with the warehouse control sheet, and let the monthly report close without merch logistics slowing the presentation.

Salon L-1 logistics, access and chain of custody

Salon L-1 runs on a freight dock shared with the campus plants: the lateral dock accepts 12-ton trailers inside restricted hours (typically 6:00 to 9:00 and 18:00 to 21:00), and the 3.5-ton box truck has its own ramp on the east side. Pedestrian freight access requires prior ID, campus credential, logbook signature and industrial-safety protocol compliance; there is no informal access and no entry through the main door. Campus operations staff delivers the POP material and the operator kits with visible ID and credential, and handles restocking during coffee break recesses. Salon L-1's back-of-house has two areas: the access control room (where the operator kit is staged and the per-plant delivery is signed) and the compliance store (where the remaining merch sits in sealed boxes bearing the corporate seal).

For monthly reviews with international OEM presence (typically from the US, Canada, Germany or Japan), we handle invoicing in USD at the Banco de Mexico FIX rate from the day before the event, with USMCA compliance and support for deduction as customs compliance expense or International Client Relations expense in the corporate fiscal close. For reviews with STPS or labour ministry presence, we handle compliance with the campus industrial-safety protocol and the STPS protocol when applicable. The merch chain of custody is documented with signature, time stamp and photo at every checkpoint: dock entry, operations inspection, back-of-house transfer, restocking during recesses, post-event pickup.

Salon L-1 confidentiality, compliance and restrictions

Salon L-1 enforces operating rules the merch must respect: no camera phones inside the room during scrap reviews, no merch with noise or distraction elements, no large backpacks or bags inside the room (operators leave their gear in the control room), no POP material carrying competitor logos to the destination OEM, no outside food or beverages beyond the campus catering service. For sessions that require limited-edition merchandising (numbered anniversary polo, tool engraved with the year, paperweight stamped with quarter close), we coordinate with campus operations to ensure the piece clears the industrial-safety protocol, the USMCA compliance protocol and the traceability protocol when the monthly review requires serial-number inventory control of the merch.

For SAT invoicing we issue CFDI 4.0 with the 16% IVA breakdown and support for deduction as customs compliance expense, IMMEX operations expense or International Client Relations expense depending on how the merch is used. For corporates with IMMEX operations or US exposure, we handle complementary invoicing in USD with USMCA compliance support when the merch crosses the border as part of the compliance material for the destination OEM. For plants with dual listings (BMV and NYSE/Nasdaq), we handle bilingual (es/en) invoicing and USMCA compliance when the operator kit crosses the border as part of the compliance material for the OEM resident abroad. Merch is delivered with carta porte 3.0 when interstate or international transit applies, with the foreign trade complement when applicable, and with the payment complement when the corporate pays in instalments.

Salon L-1 frequently asked questions

Can you deliver the operator kit with a per-plant signature of receipt?

Yes — we deliver the kit with per-plant acknowledgement (not per individual operator), with supervisor or plant manager signature, delivery time and uniformed delivery staff signature. The chain of custody is documented with photo when the campus protocol allows, and the kit is kept in a sealed envelope for the entire day for return at the close of the monthly review.

Can you handle merch for monthly reviews that repeat every month?

Yes — we run monthly programming with the same brand manual, scaling the run size based on the meeting agenda and the special guests (international OEM, USMCA auditors, STPS observers). Coordination with operations for the editorial curation of the operator kit.

Can you invoice the merch as IMMEX compliance expense?

Yes — we issue CFDI 4.0 to the SAT with the 16% IVA breakdown and support for deduction as IMMEX compliance expense, plant operations expense or International Client Relations expense depending on how the merch is used. For plants with IMMEX operations, we handle complementary invoicing in USD with the foreign trade complement and USMCA compliance.

No. Corp-Merch.MX is an independent curation, production and logistics workshop for merch at monthly operations reviews, month-end briefings and plant presentations in Salon L-1 and other Bajio and Mexico venues. Salon L-1 is mentioned solely for descriptive purposes about the sector.
