Salón J-6 Corp — merchandising for cross-border conventions in Tijuana

Tijuana is the busiest border crossing in Latin America: every week executives cross from San Diego, Ontario and Arizona to meet with maquiladora plants and IMMEX suppliers. We produce the merchandising with the bilingual documentation and USD-payment fluency that dynamic requires, and deliver to Salón J-6 with the punctuality the cross-border calendar demands.

Why Tijuana runs differently from any other Mexican city

The Tijuana Convention Center —on Boulevard Abelardo L. Rodríguez 10280, Zona Río— is the reference venue for maquiladora conventions, industrial-supply trade shows and one-to-one meetings with US buyers. The city concentrates more than seven hundred IMMEX plants, several medical-device, electronics and furniture clusters, and a growing nearshoring ecosystem relocating operations from Asia into Baja California.

Salón J-6 inside the complex accommodates medium booths and audiences up to six hundred guests, ideal for industrial trade shows and corporate conventions with cross-border delegations. Here the technical visitor crosses from San Ysidro or Otay Mesa with a tool bag, a closed agenda and little time: the merchandising must be useful, easy to carry and bilingual enough to work both on the Mexican plant floor and in the Californian corporate office.

Corp-Merch operates in Tijuana with a partner workshop in Zona Río and a supplier network across Mexicali, Ensenada and Tecate. For IMMEX clients we manage the flow under the Returnable Container mechanism with a pedimento at the Tijuana customs office, enabling agile deliveries without VAT payment. When goods come from the United States crossing through Otay Mesa we regularise through pedimento and USMCA rules-of-origin compliance. We issue CFDI 4.0 with the option to invoice in USD under the service-export regime when the delivery crosses the border definitively.

Merchandising services we deliver to Salón J-6

Bilingual apparel for the booth team

Polo tees and jackets with logo embroidery and, optionally, a short legend in Spanish and English. Produced at our Zona Río workshop with unit-level quality control and full sizing for Mexican staff and US visitors.

Practical gifts for the cross-border visitor

Laser-engraved thermal bottles, hand-bound notebooks with bilingual cover, encrypted USB drives with branded content, travel-adapter sets. Each piece is built to survive the border crossing and daily use on the plant floor.

Welcome kits for US delegations

Rigid cardboard boxes with hot-stamped exhibitor logo, bilingual card with crossing instructions and branded materials. For first-time crossers we add an orientation kit with maps, local contacts and logistics tips.

Materials for one-to-one appointments

Presentation folders, bilingual letterhead notepads, metallic roller pens, business-card envelopes. Designed for sessions where the visitor takes actionable material back to a San Diego or Phoenix plant.

Production, customs and delivery to J-6

The brief for a Tijuana event usually arrives with two key components: the urgency of cross-border operations and the need for rigorous bilingualism. At Corp-Merch we handle both without adding complexity to the project. Local production runs at our partner workshop in Zona Río, with fast response capacity for standard lines and visual quality aligned with the exhibitor's brand.

When goods cross the border we manage three routes. The first is local production with direct delivery to the venue loading bay, no pedimento. The second is production in the rest of Mexico crossing through Tijuana customs, useful when the goods are manufactured in Guadalajara or Monterrey and we want to consolidate before delivery. The third is production in Asia with entry through Ensenada port or Long Beach, California, and ground crossing to Tijuana under the Returnable Container mechanism when applicable.

For IMMEX clients with an authorised programme delivery operates VAT-free under the Returnable Container mechanism for samples and trade-show giveaways. When the goods stay at the client's plant at the end of the event we regularise the pedimento to convert the temporary operation into definitive. Each route is documented with CFDI 4.0, pedimento when applicable and an inventory report signed by your floor coordinator at delivery.

Suggested planning timeline

  1. Seven weeks out: creative brief, bilingual validation and brand-guide review.
  2. Five weeks out: physical prototype, final quantities per SKU and signed contract with deposit.
  3. Three weeks out: finished production, individual packaging and split per booth and delivery day.
  4. Show week: delivery to the Convention Center east loading bay, verification with the coordinator and collection at close.

Frequently asked questions

Is Corp-Merch an official partner or supplier of the Tijuana Convention Center?

No. Corp-Merch is an independent corporate-merchandising supplier. We have no sponsorship, exclusivity or formal alliance with the venue; our work is with the exhibitor that rents the booth.

Can you invoice in US dollars?

Yes. We quote and sign the contract in USD when the client requires it, common for maquiladora operations with a California head office. We issue CFDI 4.0 in MXN with the agreed FX equivalence, or a service-export invoice with code 02 when the delivery crosses the border.

Do you handle pedimento at Tijuana customs?

Yes. We regularise temporary imports under the Returnable Container mechanism when applicable, or definitive imports with USMCA rules-of-origin compliance when goods come from North America. For IMMEX clients with an authorised programme the delivery operates VAT-free.

Can you produce at a local Tijuana workshop?

Yes. We have a partner workshop in Zona Río with fast response capacity for standard lines. For larger runs or high-density embroidery we complete production with workshops in Guadalajara and Puebla without affecting timelines.
