Salon G-10: the room with solar panels on the roof where carbon neutrality is announced and the merch is printed with soy ink
Salon G-10 sits on the ground floor of a bioclimatic building on Calzada de Tlalpan, inside the southern corridor of CDMX. It is a 280-square-metre hall with a green roof and 60 solar panels covering 70% of the event's electrical consumption, a rainwater harvesting system for the restrooms, two central islands with recycled-cork boards, an adjoining room seating 100 for a Zero Kilometre menu served by local chefs, a service freight elevator with restricted hours, and a freight dock accepting a 3.5-ton box truck. Inside these walls the ESG associations gathering IPC-listed issuers and SASB-reporting corporates hold their annual congresses, the multinationals with Mexico operations that report to the SBP announce their carbon neutrality, the corporates with science-based targets (SBTi) make their public commitments, the university presses publish their environmental impact reports with UNDP support, and SEMARNAT and PROFEPA run their compliance training workshops for environmental officers. What separates Salon G-10 from a comparable ESG venue is that the merch has to arrive with the product's impact statement printed inside the box.
