Salon B-2 Bajio: the room where the Queretaro IMMEX plant unveils the new line and the merch clears Laredo the same week
Salon B-2 is one of the industrial halls of the Queretaro-San Luis Potosi-Apodaca corridor, inside the industrial park that hosts the IMMEX (Manufacturing, Maquiladora and Export Service Industry) plants of the automotive, electronics, home appliance and medical device sectors: 480 sqm polished concrete floor, 9-metre clear height, overhead crane for prototype rigging, 220V three-phase and 480V power outlets for machinery, HEPA-filtered air extraction, 53-ft trailer dock access at grade, compressed air room for pneumatic tests, videoconference room for direct link to the customer in Detroit, Stuttgart or Yokohama, temporary prototype store with 24/7 surveillance, press room for local and regional outlets (El Financiero Bajio, Milenio Queretaro, El Economista Industrial), 200-seat corporate-catered cafeteria. This is where Bajio-plant OEMs stage new line launches, Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier industrial fairs, demonstrations of new manufacturing processes (stamping, plastic injection, CNC machining, robotic welding), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) with customer engineering teams, industrial park community open days, symbolic donation deliveries to local educational institutions. What separates Salon B-2 from a polished trade-show pavilion is the IMMEX logistics chain: merch delivered to US or Canadian suppliers must exit the country under the IMMEX programme with a foreign trade complement, with an export pedimento, with USMCA compliance so the customer receives the merch under preferential tariff treatment, and with enough lead time for the merch to reach its destination before the production part ships from the plant.
