Salon A-14: the room where the winning startup pitches the CEO and the prototype fits in the investor's technical backpack

Salon A-14 is the open innovation room of the corporate campus: 380 square metres in a workshop layout with capacity for 80 to 120 people, relocatable modular furniture, 12 round tables for 8 people each, rapid prototyping stations (3D printers, laser cutters, electronics kits), LED screens for the startup pitches, innovation VP lectern, private room for CEO one-on-one meetings with the finalist startups, direct exit to the side garden for the outdoor dynamics. This is where the corporate hackathons run, where the startup co-creation days land, where the pitch days of the open innovation programmes happen, where the design thinking sessions with the product teams gather, and where the technology discovery workshops with the R&D centres run.

Salon A-14 logistics, access and prototype custody

Salon A-14 runs on two freight accesses: the lateral dock of the campus (open 6:00 to 22:00, trailers up to 12 tons) and the underground parking ramp (open 8:00 to 20:00, 3.5-ton limit per vehicle). The lateral dock is the only one that accepts a full freight trailer with the startup prototypes and the rapid prototyping equipment; the parking ramp accepts the 3.5-ton box truck and two cargo vans simultaneously. The room setup window is 18 to 24 hours before the lab and the teardown window is 6 to 10 hours after close. The campus operations staff audits each merch box with a metal detector and a visual inspection; prototype material requires an entry guide signed by the entrepreneur and the room operations lead.

For hackathons with international startup presence (typically from the US, Europe, Asia, Latin America), we handle invoicing in USD at the Banco de Mexico FIX rate from the day before the lab, with USMCA compliance and deduction support as Innovation or Corporate Entrepreneurship expense in the corporate fiscal close. For hackathons with IMMEX or US operations, we handle complementary invoicing to the SAT with the 16% IVA breakdown and USMCA compliance support when the merch crosses the border as part of the international entrepreneur recognition.

Salon A-14 compliance, restrictions and permits

Salon A-14 enforces operating rules the merch must respect: no unauthorised recording devices (pitches are usually confidential and entrepreneurs usually require a signed confidentiality agreement), no merch with noise or distraction elements, no food inside the room (only closed-container coffee and water), no POP material with competitor logos of the innovation programme. For hackathons that require limited-edition merch (numbered anniversary programme backpack, USB with the prototype final version), we coordinate with the campus operations team to ensure the piece clears the security protocol, the innovation protocol and the confidentiality protocol when applicable.

For SAT invoicing we issue CFDI 4.0 with the 16% IVA breakdown and deduction support as Innovation, Corporate Entrepreneurship or Venture Capital expense depending on how the merch is used. For corporates with IMMEX or US exposure, we handle complementary invoicing in USD or EUR with USMCA compliance support when the merch crosses the border as part of the international entrepreneur recognition. Merch is delivered with carta porte 3.0 when interstate or international transit applies, with the foreign trade complement when applicable, and with the payment complement when the corporate pays in instalments.
