Plaza: the public space of Mexico City where the brand becomes city and the merch is given away by the thousands
The Plaza is the open-air public space of the Reforma-Zócalo-Polanco corridor where mass brand activations run, brand experiences for consumer-product launches, corporate events with mayor or governor presence, Independence Day celebrations with corporate sponsorship, and corporate Social Responsibility events (reforestation, blood donation, charity run). Capacity runs from 500 people in activation format with stations, 2,000 in festival format with main stage, and 5,000 in public congregation format with stage, press area, sponsor area and services area. The plaza runs borough permits and, for federal plazas (Zócalo, Plaza de la República), permits from the CDMX Ministry of Government. Permits specify schedule (usually 08:00 to 22:00), maximum capacity, restricted zones, loading accesses and mandatory services (restrooms, first aid, private security). The asset is the mass reach; the risk is the complex logistics and the revocable permit. We run four merch packages for public plazas.
Plaza merch packages
Experiential merch
Production of 100 to 600 pieces for experiential activations inside the Plaza: copper-engraving station, hand-screen-printing station, photo booth with included merch. Each station hands out a unique piece the visitor takes and shares on social media.Sponsor VIP merch
Production of 30 to 150 pieces delivered in the Plaza VIP area or stage box. Leather or wooden box with engraved logo, curated piece, personalised CEO letter. Discreet handling by the Plaza staff.Staff merch
Uniformity of the corporate team, borough staff and volunteers: 20 to 100 people in crew t-shirt or polo, identification vest, badge with photo and role, protocol kit (cards, pen, notebook). Professional pressing and delivery to the Plaza back-of-house.Plaza logistics, permits, loading access and weather Plan B
The Plaza runs borough permits and, for federal plazas, CDMX Ministry of Government permits. Permits specify schedule (usually 08:00 to 22:00), maximum capacity, restricted zones, loading accesses and mandatory services. The loading access runs along the Plaza's perimeter street with restricted schedule (usually 06:00 to 09:00 for pre-event load and 22:00 to 24:00 for post-event unload); the freight lift or load trailer enters with auxiliary police escort when the volume requires it. The setup window runs 4 to 8 hours before the event, and the strike window runs 2 to 4 hours after doors close. The Plaza operations staff audits every merch box with a metal detector and visual inspection.
For mass events with TV production, we comply with the broadcaster's protocol, with pieces carrying no third-party logos or with digital suppression when the corporate manual demands it. For events with public officials (mayor, governor, head of government), we comply with the SPCC security protocol and the Bancaria e Industrial Police when applicable. For corporate Social Responsibility events, we handle donation of the surplus merch to the charity coordinated with the CSR area. For plazas with rain risk, we run a mandatory Plan B with waterproof tents and indoor backup logistics coordinated with the borough.
Plaza compliance, permits and restrictions
The Plaza enforces operational rules the merch must respect: no open-air pyrotechnics without borough and Ministry of Government permit, no merch with sharp edges, no merch with flammable materials, no pets, no merch with logos that could be confused with electoral propaganda when the event runs during an electoral period, no merch with alcoholic beverages. For mass events requiring limited-edition merch (numbered t-shirt, signed book, press with the event date), we coordinate with the borough permits area to ensure each piece passes the protocol.
For SAT invoicing, we issue a CFDI 4.0 with 16% IVA breakdown and supporting documentation for deduction as Marketing or Public Relations expense. For corporates with IMMEX or EU operations, we issue complementary invoicing in USD or EUR and support USMCA compliance. The merch is delivered with Carta Porte 3.0 when interstate or international transit applies, with the foreign trade complement when applicable, and with the payment complement when the corporate pays in instalments.

Plaza frequently asked questions
How do you handle borough and Ministry of Government permits?
We coordinate with the borough permits area and, when applicable, with the CDMX Government Department. We prepare the event documentation (setup plan, security plan, contingency plan, cleanup plan) and deliver the corporate a copy of the authorised permit.
How do you handle merch for a 5,000-attendee morning activation?
We produce 5,000+ pieces in a single run, deliver them on pallets with sealed master boxes, set up 8 to 12 distribution counters with uniformed staff and continuous restocking. At activation close we report delivered and undelivered pieces for donation.
Can you invoice as a marketing expense?
Yes — we issue CFDI 4.0 to SAT with 16% IVA breakdown and supporting documentation for deduction as Marketing expense. For corporates with IMMEX operations, we issue complementary USD invoicing.
