Sala Nezahualcóyotl at UNAM: the hall where the Philharmonic performs Mahler and the season patron steps out of the foyer with the guest-conductor-signed record under their arm

Sala Nezahualcóyotl is the symphonic hall of the UNAM Cultural Center with 2,300 seats, acoustic-shell stage, surround-sound system for contemporary repertoire, lobby with Germán Cueto sculpture and three box levels. UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra seasons run here, along with the OFUNAM CDMX-Cuernavaca-Toluca tour, the UNAM Chamber Music Cycle recitals, foundation benefit concerts, the Composer-in-Residence premieres and tributes to national composers. What defines Sala Nezahualcóyotl is symphonic tradition with contemporary programming: classical repertoire on one side and Mexican commission on the other, with the same merch moving between seats and stage.
