Launch-week — D-21 / D-7 / D-1 / D0 / D+7 sequence

Merch program for a product launch week: pre-brief NDA kits for press and analysts, day-zero hero items for the keynote, premium press kits, customer follow-up post-launch. Detailed sequence with each deliverable, volume and timing. CFDI 4.0, 16% IVA.

When to use this playbook

The launch-week is the week when the public launch of an important product happens: B2B SaaS doing a keynote, hardware with physical reveal, platform opening general registration, app exiting beta, fintech with new product, book or research being presented, film or series premiering, consumer brand opening a flagship. During that week multiple simultaneous events happen: press embargo lift, analyst briefings, customer demos, public keynote, after-party, investor calls. Merch accompanies each moment with differentiated pieces.

This playbook applies to B2B SaaS companies of any size, Mexican scaleups at launch moment, fintechs with new product, e-commerce platforms opening verticals, hardware companies, consumer companies with signature product launch, publishers with new book, production companies with new content, and corporates launching a new business vertical. It also applies to a Mexican regional brand launching in the national market or the international launch of a previously domestic-only Mexican brand.

The playbook assumes you already have tentative public launch date, tentative embargo lift dates for press and analysts, tentative keynote date, tentative press and analyst invitee list, tentative speaker list, tentative VIP customer and qualified prospect list, and total budget assigned to the program. Corp-Merch integrates into the existing calendar and delivers the pieces at the right moments.

Why launch-week needs a dedicated playbook

The launch-week is one of the highest-pressure operational moments for a merch program: dates are immovable (the keynote is the keynote, the embargo lift is the embargo lift), volumes are high (hundreds to thousands of units), audiences are diverse and expect differentiated pieces (press, analysts, speakers, VIP customers, prospects), delivery lead times are short (weeks not months) and error margin is minimal (if the press kit arrives late the review is published without merch; if the keynote hero item is personalised wrong the launch photo is tainted).

That is why the playbook is not optional: without a clear sequence and a team that executes it, something almost always fails. The D-21 / D-7 / D-1 / D0 / D+7 sequence lets you plan each deliverable with enough lead time, run quality checkpoints at the right moment and react if something moves without collapsing the rest of the program.

Roles and responsibilities

The client brings: the product marketing manager that coordinates the launch, the communications team that coordinates press and analysts, the events team that coordinates the keynote and venue logistics, the sales team that identifies prospects and VIP customers, the customer success team that selects internal evangelists, finance that approves budget and invoicing, and legal that validates disclosure and NDA. Corp-Merch brings: a dedicated account executive, a project manager that coordinates the six phases, designers familiar with launches, production with capacity for premium hero items, temporary warehouse, integrated parcel carriers with confirmed delivery, CFDI 4.0 invoicing, launch-KPI reporting attributable to merch and on-site support during the keynote.

For companies with recurring launches (quarterly release, monthly feature launch, integration with new partners) we recommend an annual agreement covering N launches at preferential rates and with capacity reservation. This lets each launch be professional without going through full procurement each time.
