Product launch merch: from embargoed press kit to floor-ready uniform
A product launch has three concentric audiences with very different rhythms. Press and analysts under embargo need sealed, traceable kits days before the public reveal. Influencers and creators need a unit that arrives in unboxing condition with no compromise to the photographic surface. Distributors, sales reps and field staff need their uniform and collateral in hand on launch day, distributed to branches across CDMX, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Querétaro and Tijuana. Corp-Merch.MX runs all three rings with NDA-controlled production, individual packing per recipient and stand-side delivery to the launch venue when applicable.
The embargo protocol protects the reveal
An embargoed press kit has to reach the journalist or analyst intact, sealed and before the public reveal. We run this with a controlled manifest: each kit carries a unique tracking number, the recipient's name on the packing list and a tamper-evident seal. The shipping label does not reference the product name or category — only the courier waybill and our reference code. The product itself is wrapped in opaque inner packing and the outer box is generic white or printed in a neutral design that does not reveal the launch's subject.
Distribution is timed to deliver 24 to 72 hours before the public reveal, depending on the publication's embargo window. For international press who receive by courier, we coordinate with the embargo holder so the kit clears customs without the press seeing the launch in customs' manifest. For local journalists, we use a trackable courier with signature confirmation and a photo at delivery. Once the embargo lifts, we collect and destroy the leftover inventory per the brand's protocol — typically with a signed destruction certificate.
Four kit tiers, one consolidated operation
Embargoed press kit
Sealed box with tamper-evident closure, generic outer packing, inner tray with the launch unit, embargoed brief card, NDA reminder, branded accessories that photograph well. Individual manifest per recipient. Volume 30 to 300 units depending on the media tier. Range MXN 2,200–6,500.

Distributor and sales-rep launch pack
Sales collateral binder, branded tee or polo, cap, lanyard, product sample case (when applicable), quick-reference card and an exclusive early-access gift for the distributor's top accounts. Delivered 5 to 10 days before launch to allow field prep. Volume 100 to 5,000 units. Range MXN 380–1,400.
Launch-day apparel and floor kit
Unified uniform for store staff, demo-centre staff, brand ambassadors and event crew. Tees, polos, caps and aprons in coordinated palette with the launch motif. Stand-side delivery to demo centres, brand stores and the launch venue. Range MXN 280–700 per piece.
Mexico-specific launch channels
A product launch in Mexico often runs through channels that don't have a direct equivalent elsewhere. Liverpool and Palacio de Hierro hold seasonal product reveals with embargoed press previews. Independent boutique retailers in Roma Norte, Condesa and Polanco expect a different relationship than the mass-channel account — kits are smaller, more refined, sometimes hand-delivered. For consumer electronics and household appliances, the launches coordinate with the marketing team's media plan at TV Azteca, Televisa and the digital-native outlets. For fintech and B2B SaaS, the launch runs through SoFi Mexico-style town halls, fintech-week side events and partner activations at WeWork, Workspace or WeWork Polanco.
For automotive, beverage and beauty launches the experiential layer matters: pop-up at Casa Bosques, reveal dinner at Pujol or Quintonil, branded activation at the Hipódromo de las Américas or at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. For each of these venues we coordinate delivery with the event office, security and the venue's logistics lead so the kit arrives in window without disrupting the guest experience. Where the launch requires a parallel handout for guests, we run a separate SKU at lower unit cost but visually consistent with the main kit.
Logistics, lead time and packaging integrity
A press or influencer kit cannot show up dented, scratched or repacked — the photographic surface is the kit. We run a separate packing line for launch kits: rigid box or mailer with corner protectors, foam or moulded pulp insert, and a double-check protocol where each kit is inspected by two people before sealing. For kits shipping to humid or coastal destinations (Cancún, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán), we add a desiccant sachet inside the outer wrap. For kits shipping internationally, we align with the courier's declared-value insurance and the destination's import requirements.
Lead time for a launch kit is typically 25 to 45 days from brief approval, depending on the substrate (custom rigid box with hot stamping is the slowest, custom mailer is fastest). For a coordinated launch where the press kit, the influencer kit, the distributor pack and the launch-day apparel all run in parallel, we open a single project manager and a shared schedule. The CFDI 4.0 is issued with the operation itemised by tier and by volume, 16% IVA itemised line by line, complemento de pagos when you settle in instalments. For launch kits crossing the border (USMCA cross-shipment to the USMCA partner), the CFDI carries the comercio exterior complemento.
FAQ — product launch merch
How do you handle embargo control?
Tamper-evident seal on every kit, recipient-specific manifest, generic outer packing, controlled inventory with destruction certificate for leftovers after the reveal. The shipping label does not reference the product.
Can you handle different kit types in one operation?
Yes — press kit, influencer unboxing, distributor pack and launch-day apparel run as parallel SKUs in one project, one PM, one consolidated invoice.
Do you deliver to launch venues like the Hipódromo or Polanco?
Yes — we coordinate stand-side delivery with the event office and security. Window is 4 to 6 hours before doors open with a final check at the venue's dock.
What is the lead time for a 200-unit press kit?
30 days from brief approval. For 1,000+ unit runs or kits with a fully custom rigid box, 45 days.
Can the same kit be used for USMCA launches?
Yes — we run a unified design with localised inserts (ES-EN, EN-FR, EN-PT) and coordinate with the courier for cross-border shipping with the comercio exterior complemento on the CFDI.
Request a launch merch quote
Send us the launch date, the embargo window, the recipient count by tier (press, influencers, distributors, staff), the channels involved and any reference imagery or brand book. We prepare a structured proposal with kit breakdown, packing spec and a production schedule that protects the embargo window.
