Corporate autumn events: from Día de Muertos to the Q4 opening

The Mexican autumn —which opens on 22 September with the equinox and runs until 21 December— concentrates four high-density corporate events: Día de Muertos on 1 and 2 November with the Mexican altar tradition and pan de muerto, Buen Fin (third weekend of November) which is the Mexican version of Black Friday, Black Friday proper (fourth Friday of November), and the next-year budget kickoff typically scheduled in October. Corp-Merch.MX produces the autumn chain of events for corporates in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Querétaro, Puebla and Mérida, including corporate Día de Muertos altar, Buen Fin gift for employees, Black Friday gift for VIP clients, and budget kickoff production. We work from 30 pieces with CFDI 4.0 invoicing to SAT, 16% VAT, deductible as an Industrial Relations or Marketing expense, with deduction support for IMMEX programmes and USMCA operations.

Autumn programme: four critical events

Día de Muertos — 1 and 2 November

Production of the corporate Día de Muertos altar with the full Mexican tradition: cempasúchil, copal, candles, water, salt, pan de muerto, mole, sugar skulls, photographs of employees who have passed away, papier-mâché calacas and catrinas, orange and purple papel picado tablecloths. For the gathering we run pan de muerto from a local bakery, hot chocolate, atole, tamales and gift for employees (personalised sugar skull with their name, cempasúchil aromatic candle, notebook with Día de Muertos cover). The typical date is 1 November at the end of the working day. Runs from 50 to 3,000 pieces.

Buen Fin — third weekend of November

Production of the gift the corporate gives to its employees on Buen Fin: Amazon México, Liverpool or El Palacio de Hierro gift card with variable amount (MXN 500 to 5,000 per seniority), personalised CEO letter, optional gift for employees with tenure multiple of five (Citizen watch, Tumi luggage, art piece). For retail and consumer corporates, we also produce the internal Buen Fin kickoff event with employee discounts, store ambient and gift for the first customers. The typical date is the Friday before the third Monday of November.

Black Friday — fourth Friday of November

Production of the gift the corporate sends to its key clients and strategic suppliers on Black Friday: gourmet basket with premium Mexican products, premium-plus gift (Longines watch, Montblanc pen, contemporary art piece), personalised CEO letter, seasonal gift. Delivery is coordinated with premium courier before 30 November. For corporates with US, Canadian and European clients we handle international shipping with customs documentation. For retail and consumer corporates we also produce the Black Friday event with extended discounts and gift for the first 100 customers.

Budget kickoff — October

Production of the internal event where the CFO presents the next-year budget to the area directors: workshop room, host, LED screens, printed budget materials, kickoff gift (corporate backpack, notebook, thermos, coffee kit). The typical date is the second or third week of October, before the year-end high season. We handle production from 30 attendees in an executive session to 200 attendees in a departmental session.

Logistics, calendar and autumn risk hedging

The Mexican autumn concentrates unique events with no equivalent in other countries: Día de Muertos is the most globally recognised Mexican tradition and the corporate that celebrates it authentically builds cultural engagement with its employees. The Día de Muertos window opens 28 October with the altar placement and closes 2 November with the gathering. The pan de muerto, sugar skulls and cempasúchil flower booking must close before 15 October due to seasonal high demand.

Buen Fin runs the third weekend of November (Friday to Monday) and the employee gift delivery must be coordinated with payroll to arrive between 14 and 16 November, before the official kickoff. Black Friday proper is celebrated the fourth Friday of November (one day after the US Thanksgiving) and the VIP client gift delivery must be coordinated with premium courier between 20 and 25 November. The budget kickoff is typically scheduled in the second or third week of October. For corporates with northern border operations (Tijuana, Juárez, Matamoros), delivery is coordinated with extended hours at the plant to cover the three shifts. The invoice is issued in MXN at the Banco de México daily rate; for US-headquartered corporates we also invoice in USD with daily conversion and USMCA support when the gift ties to regional talent retention.

Gift curation by occasion and seniority

The autumn gift curation is built with the HR committee and Internal Communications, with four distinct lines: Día de Muertos gift, Buen Fin gift, Black Friday gift and budget kickoff gift. For Día de Muertos we run operational gifts from MXN 300 to 1,500: personalised sugar skull with the employee's name, cempasúchil aromatic candle, notebook with Día de Muertos cover, pan de muerto. For Buen Fin we run gifts from MXN 500 to 5,000: Amazon México, Liverpool or El Palacio de Hierro gift card.

For Black Friday we run VIP client gifts from MXN 5,000 to 120,000: Mexican gourmet basket, Longines watch, Montblanc pen, contemporary art piece (Kurimanzutto gallery, Zona Maco), travel luggage. For the budget kickoff we run gifts from MXN 800 to 2,500: canvas backpack, hard-cover notebook, thermos, coffee kit. The gift ships with no visible price and is documented with a personalised CEO letter. Invoicing is issued with CFDI 4.0 to SAT, 16% VAT, deductible as an Industrial Relations or Marketing expense, with ISR withholding support when applicable for taxed gifts.
