SLP Manufacturing Forum Q2 2026: Tier 1 suppliers, electromobility and advanced manufacturing in San Luis Potosí, April–June

April, May and June are the quarter in which the Tier 1 suppliers and the advanced-manufacturing industry of San Luis Potosí —Draxlmaier, Kromberg & Schubert, Motherson, VU Manufacturing, Sumitomo Electric, Yazaki, Aptiv, Vitesco— open the second-half supplier round and present the new electromobility, connectivity and advanced-manufacturing products. The SLP Manufacturing Forum is the mid-year appointment at the San Luis Potosí Convention Center with B2B agenda and matchmaking. We produce the exhibitor merch with delivery to SLP five business days before setup and CFDI 4.0 with foreign trade complement when the buyer is IMMEX.

Why Q2 in SLP concentrates advanced-manufacturing innovation in the Bajío

The San Luis Potosí advanced-manufacturing cluster operates with a supplier calendar that starts in April and ends in December. The reason is the synchrony with the model cycles of the Bajío automakers: the second-quarter supplier round defines which electromobility and connectivity parts will go into production during the model cycle that starts in January of the following year. The SLP Manufacturing Forum is the appointment where the cluster's Tier 1 suppliers —German (Draxlmaier, Kromberg & Schubert), Japanese (Sumitomo, Yazaki), American (Aptiv, Vitesco), Indian (Motherson), Mexican (VU Manufacturing)— present the new products to the cluster automakers.

The typical Forum exhibitor operates from a three-by-three meter modular stand on the Convention Center floor, has an engineering and commercial team of four to ten people that travels from SLP itself, from CDMX, from Querétaro or from Munich, and brings an inventory of prototypes, certificates and samples that they deliver to buyers in printed and USB format. The stand merch fulfills four functions: engineering-team identification, buyer gift, POP material that holds the brand, and post-visit kit that arrives at the buyer two weeks after the Forum with the signed proposal.

For IMMEX suppliers headquartered in the capital industrial zone, Villa de Reyes or Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, the Forum cycle overlaps with the pedimentos calendar: the merch enters the Forum under temporary export and is nacionalizado at the close of the event when it stays in the Mexican buyer's warehouse. We generate the CFDI 4.0 with the Complemento de Comercio Exterior 2.0 from the first delivery and close the pedimento when the exhibitor requires it.

Cost and operations for the SLP Manufacturing Forum

The standard per-exhibitor bundle starts at MXN 1,180 before IVA for runs of four to six engineers. For eight-engineer runs it drops to MXN 990. The general MOQ is four engineers; stands with fewer than four are quoted with an additional fixed charge for the complexity of the back wall and the kitting per engineer.

We invoice CFDI 4.0 with 16% IVA breakdown to the SAT in national currency. For IMMEX corporate buyers we manage the payment complement in USD at the Banco de México fix of the day and the corresponding trail. For buyers receiving the charge in USD from Munich, Detroit or Stuttgart we manage the pedimento with the exhibitor's customs broker.

Lead time is twenty to thirty business days from art approval to produce the full exhibitor bundle. For exhibitors with less lead time we operate express production at an additional cost. Delivery is made five business days before setup to give the commercial team margin to do the kitting per engineer and the stand distribution.
