Corporate merch in CDMX — a working guide for buyers

Mexico City concentrates the country's largest concentration of corporate buyers, agency partners, event halls and B2B showrooms within a 30-kilometre radius. This page explains what a CDMX merch program actually looks like in 2026: where production sits, how freight moves across the four corporate corridors, what an IVA-compliant invoice needs, and how to time a delivery to Polanco, Reforma, Santa Fe or the WTC complex without sitting in traffic.

What the CDMX market looks like

Greater Mexico City hosts roughly 21 million residents, almost a fifth of the country's population, and is home to the headquarters of every major Mexican corporate group plus the regional offices of the US, European and Asian multinationals that operate under the USMCA framework. The corporate buyer base is unusually concentrated: the Reforma financial belt, Polanco's executive towers, Santa Fe's financial-services corridor and the WTC complex on Montecito together account for the majority of large-volume merch buyers in the country.

That concentration is useful for buyers because vendor coverage is dense. Apparel decorators in Iztapalapa and Gustavo A. Madero, ceramic producers in Puebla (one hour east), glassware makers in Toluca (one hour west), and engraving shops in the Centro Histórico can all be reached inside a half-day drive. The trade-off is coordination: a CDMX program typically involves three or four vendors per program, which is why we run a single-account-manager model from the Polanco office.

Reforma event activations

Walking-distance delivery to the Reforma hotels and event spaces — Sheraton, Hyatt Regency, Hilton Reforma, Hotel de la Paz. Press kits, gala gifts, mass-distribution totes and activation merch for BTL programs.

Freight, traffic and timing

CDMX traffic is a real cost variable, not a footnote. A delivery from the eastern production belt (Iztapalapa, Tláhuac) to Polanco at 08:00 takes 40 minutes; the same delivery at 17:30 takes 90 minutes or more. For time-window deliveries to executive towers, we schedule through the building's freight dock with a two-hour tolerance. Trade-show deliveries to Centro Citibanamex, WTC CDMX, Expo Reforma and the World Trade Center complex are routed through each venue's appointed dock, with a freight elevator booking made 24 hours in advance.

For international buyers shipping merch in under temporary import (IMMEX), our customs broker coordinates the pedimento at the AICM cargo terminal for air freight and at the dry port of Cuautitlán for road freight. The standard cycle is 48 hours for road, 24 hours for air, from arrival at the bonded warehouse to delivery in CDMX.

Invoicing and tax treatment

Every CDMX order ships with a CFDI 4.0 stamped by SAT, broken out as productos / IVA 16% / total, and delivered as a paired PDF and XML inside one hour of the physical delivery. The uso de CFDI defaults to G03 (gastos en general) unless the buyer's ERP specifies otherwise; the forma de pago and método de pago are filled from the PO. For companies operating under the IMMEX program we issue a separate flow with the temporary-import documentation attached, which keeps your pedimento chain clean.

USMCA buyers can be invoiced in USD or MXN; the CFDI is always MXN for SAT, with a parallel commercial invoice in the foreign currency for the buyer's internal accounting. Payment terms run from prepaid to net-30 depending on volume and credit check.

FAQ — CDMX merch

What is the MOQ for a CDMX program?

50 pieces standard for apparel and accessories, 30 for engraved or premium goods, 100 for fully custom packaging. We can run smaller test orders for new vendors or new decoration methods.

How fast can a Polanco delivery turn around?

Standard programs: 10–15 working days from PO. Rush programs with screen printing or DTG: 5–7 working days, +35% surcharge. Premium engraved and leather goods: 15–20 working days.

Do you handle bilingual ES/EN packaging?

Yes — bilingual ES/EN labels, inserts and care cards are standard. NOM compliance documentation is included on request for toys, electronics and food-contact items.

Can you store finished goods in CDMX for call-offs?

Yes — we run a bonded warehouse in Iztapalapa for call-off programs. Inventory is reconciled monthly, and releases are issued against your blanket PO inside 48 hours of request.

How do you handle data privacy under LFPDPPP?

Employee data, attendee lists and shipping addresses are processed under a controller-processor agreement that meets LFPDPPP requirements. We do not retain PII beyond 90 days post-program unless the buyer requests long-term storage under a separate data-processing agreement.
