The small cruise port of southern Quintana Roo

Mahahual is a coastal locality in the municipality of Othón P. Blanco, in southern Quintana Roo, 130 kilometres from the city of Chetumal and 60 kilometres north of the border village of Xcalak. The community has moved from a fishing village to hosting the Costa Maya cruise port — built in 2001 and operated to international standards — which receives more than one million cruise passengers a year between October and May. The village keeps a human scale, with a three-kilometre malecón, family beach clubs, boutique hostels and a Mayan and mestizo community with strong local identity.

Road access is via Carretera Federal 307 from Chetumal (90 minutes) or from Tulum (3 hours). There is no commercial airport — the nearest is Chetumal (IATA: CTM) with flights from Mexico City and Belize City. The formal economy runs on cruise tourism, diving at Banco Chinchorro (a UNESCO World Heritage Site biosphere reserve and coral atoll), sport fishing and a small but growing nature-tourism sector into the Sian Ka'an and Banco Chinchorro biosphere reserves.

Costa Maya, the cruise dock and tour operators

The Costa Maya port runs three cruise terminals serving Royal Caribbean, Carnival, MSC, Norwegian, Princess and Disney during peak season (October to May). The dock handles temporary personnel during port calls, operates with the local community and the certified-guide cooperative (native Maya-Spanish bilingual guides). For the dock operation we run supervisor-graded polos for ground staff, crew welcome kits and operation-graded safety polos for temporary personnel.

Authorised tour operators — Native Choice, Maya Lost Mayan Kingdom, Mayá Nailing Experience, Pez Maya Diving, Costa Maya Reef Snorkel — order quick-dry polos for guides, UV-protective caps, waterproof backpacks and Mayan-anchored gift sets (chocolate, melipona honey, loom-woven hammocks, salsa macha). The supply chain runs up Highway 307 from Chetumal, so orders to Mahahual are consolidated and shipped from the state capital with 48 to 72 hours of advance notice.

Banco Chinchorro, diving and the biosphere reserve

Banco Chinchorro is the largest coral atoll in the northern hemisphere and was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1996. It is one of Mexico's premier technical and recreational diving destinations, with more than 30 historic wrecks (including the famous 40 Cannons), vertical walls, sunken ships and large fauna (bull sharks, manta rays, hawksbill turtles). Certified dive centres order dive-master-graded polos, instructor-graded rashguards, branded caps, identification sets and engraved certification kits.

Sport-fishing operators running from Mahahual to Banco Chinchorro and the Xcalak strip — considered one of the Caribbean's last intact reserves — order quick-dry polos, UV caps, personalised equipment sets and corporate gifts for US and Canadian clients. The Capitanía de Puerto de Mahahual orders staff polos and operation-graded safety polos. The malecón's beach clubs and restaurants order bar and kitchen staff polos, branded souvenir kits and client gift sets.

The Mayan community, the artisan cooperative and Xcalak

The Mayan community of Mahahual — together with the neighbouring villages of Xcalak and the coffee zone of the Sierra — runs an artisan cooperative producing loom-woven hammocks, embroidered blouses, carved wooden pieces, palm baskets and chaquira jewellery. For the cooperative and the artisans we handle premium artisan-anchored packaging that meets export requirements (NOM-050 labelling when carrying an environmental seal, phytosanitary protection when the piece is wood or natural fibre).

Xcalak is a village of 800 inhabitants 60 kilometres south of Mahahual, considered one of the Mexican Caribbean's last intact fishing settlements. The Xcalak biosphere reserve (Banco Chinchorro) limits construction and tourism operations, which supports a small, high-value nature-tourism market. The dive lodges (Xcalak Reef Club, Ecotel Las Vegas, Casa Xcalak) order staff polos and client gift sets. The Comisión Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas (CONANP) operates with park-ranger polos and operational identification sets. If your brief includes quantity, date and venue (Costa Maya, dock, Banco Chinchorro, Mayan village, dive centre, Xcalak), we'll walk through it and ground it in production.

Southern Quintana Roo logistics and delivery

Our operation covers Mahahual, Xcalak, Banco Chinchorro, the Costa Maya port, Chetumal and the southern corridor down to the Belize border. Production leaves our central workshop and arrives via road freight at the Chetumal consolidator, where it ships on Highway 307 to Mahahual or Xcalak. Standard lead times: 10 to 15 business days for production plus 3 to 5 days for delivery in southern Quintana Roo.

For urgent orders we keep base inventory of white polos in S to XXL, caps, backpacks and engraved tumblers that move into personalisation production in 5 to 7 business days. The supply chain depends on the cruise calendar and the weather — northerly winds from November to February can affect the road freight schedule. We'll walk through it with you and adjust the flow to the southern Quintana Roo operating reality.

What we are not
