Product launch packs for Mexican market entries and line extensions

A product launch in Mexico is not a single event — it is a six-to-twelve-week program that has to align press, dealers, consumers and the launch event around a single message. We assemble launch packs for consumer-goods launches (CPG, beverages, beauty, personal care), automotive launches at the Centro de Diseño Peugeot, the planta de Stellantis in Toluca or the VW plant in Puebla, technology launches at the local Apple Premium Reseller, the Samsung Experience Store, the Microsoft office, and pharmaceutical launches at the medical congresses. CFDI 4.0 with 16% IVA, USD commercial invoice for international procurement, IMMEX coordination for maquiladora launches.

Why a product launch has four parallel streams, not one

A Mexican launch has to reach four distinct audiences with distinct messages and distinct merch objects. Press needs a press kit with the product specs, the brand narrative, the photography and a memorable branded piece they will keep on their desk. Dealers and distributors need a dealer kit with the sell-in materials, the price list, the training deck and a branded gift that anchors the product at the point of sale. Consumers need a giveaway that travels from the launch event to the home, the office, the gym. The launch event itself needs the apparel, the signage and the on-site experience to support the day.

All four streams share the same brand identity, the same campaign tagline, the same colour palette and the same launch date. They diverge in the components, the volumes and the personalisation. A press kit is a 80–150 piece run; a dealer kit is a 200–800 piece run; a consumer giveaway is a 2,000–20,000 piece run; a launch event is a single-day 50–200 staff run. Each stream has its own production schedule but they ship from the same supplier and the same project lead.

The four streams of a launch pack

Press kit

Rigid presentation box with the product sample, the press release, the photography, the brand narrative, the fact sheet, and a branded principal object (engraved notebook, branded leather portfolio, branded crystal or wooden piece). The press kit is hand-delivered to the press list 7–10 days before the launch date. Range USD 80–320 per kit.

Dealer and distributor kit

Rigid folder with the sell-in materials, the price list, the training deck, the point-of-sale assets and a branded gift (premium tee, branded jacket, branded cap). The dealer kit ships to the dealer network 14 days before the launch date so the dealers are trained and equipped for the sell-in window. Range USD 48–180 per kit.

Consumer giveaway

Branded tote, reusable bottle, sticker sheet, mini-poster, branded t-shirt, sample sachet for CPG, branded cooler bag for beverage launches, branded phone accessory for technology launches. The consumer giveaway is distributed at the launch event and the follow-on sampling events at retailers like Walmart, Soriana, Chedraui, OXXO, Liverpool, Palacio de Hierro. Range USD 3–48 per giveaway.

Launch event apparel

Branded polo or oxford shirt for the launch-day staff, garment-dyed tee for the consumer-event team, branded cap, name badges with role icons, branded vest, branded jacket for the outdoor launches. The apparel is kitted per team member with a spare set and a stain kit. Range USD 38–95 per person for a full set.

Production window, retail partnerships and IMMEX

A launch pack typically opens production 60 days before the launch date: 14 days for creative and approval, 30 days for the consumer giveaway's volume production, 14 days for the press and dealer kits' personalised production, and 7 days for the launch-day apparel and the event staging. For launches that coincide with a national retail campaign (Walmart Mexico, Soriana, Chedraui, Liverpool, Palacio de Hierro), the consumer giveaway's volume is matched to the campaign's expected foot traffic and is staged through the retailer's regional distribution centre.

For maquiladora launches under the IMMEX programme — a new model on the line at the Stellantis plant in Toluca, the VW plant in Puebla, the GM plant in Silao or the Kia plant in Pesqueria — the launch event is held at the plant and the merch is procured locally with the IMMEX program folio on the CFDI 4.0. For international product launches that bring in press kits from abroad, we coordinate the temporary import through the customs broker and re-export at the event close.

FAQ — product launch packs

How early should we start the launch pack?

60 days before the launch date for the full four-stream pack. 45 days for the press + event scope. 30 days for the consumer giveaway only (when the press and dealer kits are handled by a global agency).

Can the consumer giveaway be distributed through Walmart or OXXO?

Yes — we coordinate the distribution with the retailer's regional team. The giveaway is staged through the retailer's distribution centre and the merchandising team handles the in-store placement. The CFDI 4.0 is issued to the manufacturer or the brand's Mexican operating entity.

Can the launch event be staged under the maquiladora IMMEX program?

Yes — for launches at the Stellantis Toluca plant, the VW Puebla plant, the GM Silao plant or the Kia Pesqueria plant, we coordinate the launch event with the plant's IMMEX coordinator and the customs broker. The CFDI 4.0 carries the IMMEX program folio on the receipt.

Can we ship the press kit to journalists in the US or Europe?

Yes — we coordinate international shipping via DHL Mexico or FedEx Mexico with the CFDI 4.0 comercio exterior complemento and the export documentation for the destination country. Press kits to Latin America often go via the local press office instead of direct shipping.

Send the launch name, date, the product category, the four stream volumes, the retail partnerships and the visual identity references. We prepare a four-stream proposal with per-stream cost, retail-distribution logistics and the CFDI / USD billing split.
