VIP gift package: the kit that measures the weight of the guest, not the size of the gift

The VIP gift package in Mexico has an economy distinct from the mass package: the VIP guest has already decided to buy, sign or join, and the kit is the tangible proof that the corporate recognises that decision. Mexican corporates that work with an advisory board, an investment committee, a board of directors, a diplomatic corps or a strategic client run VIP packages in four tiers: gratitude kit (editorial curation, MXN $1,500 to $4,000), commemoration kit (art or jewellery piece, MXN $4,000 to $18,000), reward kit (experience or trip, MXN $18,000 to $80,000) and strategic kit (gift curated by the CEO for the personal guest, MXN $80,000 to $400,000). The weight of the kit is not the price of the piece — it is the care in the curation, the protocol compliance, the privacy of the delivery and the quality of the packaging.

VIP gift package tiers

Gratitude kit

Editorial curation for guests who close a cycle with the corporate: written piece (book signed by the author, numbered press, limited edition manuscript) or everyday-use piece with discretion (engraved thermal mug, leather notebook, Montblanc or similar pen). Cardboard box lined or synthetic leather with hot-stamping, gift — sealed letter from the CEO.

Commemoration kit

Art or Mexican jewellery piece for guests who mark a milestone with the corporate: anniversary, retirement, business closure, joint launch. Wooden or leather box with the engraved corporate logo, certificate of authenticity, gift — sealed letter from the CEO, gallery or artist workshop visit when applicable.

Reward kit

Experience or trip for guests who meet a strategic goal: dinner at a high-end restaurant, five-star hotel stay, domestic trip to Tulum or Valle de Guadalupe, gastronomic experience at Pujol, international trip to Europe or Asia. Box carrying the narrative piece (itinerary, CEO letter, photo keepsake), compliance with the Federal Labour Law when the gift exceeds MXN $80,000.

Strategic kit

Gift curated by the CEO for the personal guest, outside the corporate's institutional programme: commissioned art piece, round-the-world trip, high-end jewellery piece, car under a comodato, real-estate piece. We handle PLD compliance when applicable and SAT declaration when the piece has a commercial value above MXN $400,000.

Curation, privacy and VIP guest compliance

The VIP gift package curation is built with the Institutional Relations area, the Internal Communications area and the CEO's office. The corporate brand manual is the starting point, not the end: the kit should tell the story of the guest with the corporate, not the story of the corporate with the guest. For diplomatic corps guests, we handle compliance with the Mexican diplomatic protocol (pieces with no flammable material, no third-party logos in the visible area, with declaration to the Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores when the gift exceeds the Federal Foreign Service Law threshold).

For investment-area guests (private equity, investment banking, family office), we handle PLD compliance when the gift has a value above MXN $5,000: delivery is documented with recipient identification and compliance declaration to the SAT. For government-area guests (public officials, regulators, tax authorities), we handle compliance with the Ley General de Responsabilidades Administrativas and the Ley Federal de Anticorrupción: the gift is documented with asset declaration when it exceeds MXN $5,000 and is delivered with the appropriate abstention period when applicable. For international guests, we handle invoicing with foreign-trade supplement when the guest resides abroad.

Packaging, delivery and discretion

The VIP gift package packaging operates under total discretion: the box carries no corporate logo on the outside, delivery is made in a sealed envelope or via private courier, and the kit receipt is signed with encrypted acknowledgement. For art or jewellery pieces, we handle a wooden or leather box with the artist's or brand's certificate of authenticity. For everyday-use pieces (thermal mug, notebook, pen), we handle a synthetic leather box with discreet hot-stamping of the corporate logo. For experiences or trips, we handle a box with the narrative piece (itinerary, CEO letter, photo keepsake) and post-kit scheduling.

VIP package delivery is made to the guest's office, to the home address with confirmed schedule, to the box of the event venue, to the hangar of the private airport when the guest travels, or to the corporate's VIP waiting room. We handle private courier in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Querétaro and Tijuana, with GPS tracking and recipient signature. For international guests, we handle international shipping with premium courier (DHL Express, UPS Worldwide Saver, FedEx International Priority) and customs compliance with pedimento when the value exceeds the destination country's customs threshold. SAT invoicing is issued with 16% VAT breakdown (or zero-rate for export) and support for deductibility as a Public Relations or Institutional Relations expense.

MOQ, costs and tax compliance

Gratitude kit — from MXN $1,500 before VAT per piece at a run from 8. Commemoration kit — from MXN $4,000 before VAT per piece at a run from 6. Reward kit — from MXN $18,000 before VAT per piece at a run from 4. Strategic kit — from MXN $80,000 before VAT per piece at a run from 2. For commissioned art pieces, we coordinate with the artist and the gallery, with 50% invoicing on confirmation and 50% on delivery.

The VIP gift package tax compliance depends on the tier. For gratitude kits up to MXN $4,000, we handle deductibility as a Public Relations expense without SAT declaration. For commemoration kits up to MXN $18,000, we handle deductibility as an Institutional Relations expense with documentary support. For reward kits up to MXN $80,000, we handle deductibility as an Institutional Relations expense with SAT declaration and ISR withholding when applicable. For strategic kits above MXN $80,000, we handle PLD compliance, SAT declaration and compliance with the Federal Labour Law when the guest is a corporate employee. Reservations are made with a ten-point brief: number of guests, per-piece budget, event date, gift type, protocol, tax compliance, delivery location and SAT invoicing.
