Summer bundle: merch that works at 38°C

Mexican summer is not a metaphor. From May to August, Monterrey averages 34°C with peaks of 42°C; Hermosillo and Mexicali exceed 45°C; Guadalajara and CDMX sit between 28 and 32°C with higher heat-index; the Riviera Maya runs at 80% humidity and a constant 30°C. When a corporate plans a plant-visit tour, industrial fair or outdoor event during this period, the merch has to be designed for those conditions or it stays in the backpack. We run the summer bundle for IMMEX corporates in the north, hospitality groups in tourist destinations, summer-fair organisers (Expo Guadalajara summer edition, ANTAD summer edition, regional fairs in León, Veracruz and Acapulco), and for commercial tours crossing the country between June and August.

Why summer merch cannot be the same as year-round merch

A 500 ml thermos that holds temperature 8 hours in mild weather empties itself in 2 hours under the Saltillo sun. A 200 g/m² combed-cotton polo that looks pristine in the office gets soaked in 20 minutes on the plant floor. A ballistic-nylon backpack that protects a laptop in air-conditioned office space starts transferring heat to the device when carried in the sun. These are problems we've seen at our northern clients' plants that use the same winter kit all year: the merch looks great in the catalogue and fails in real use.

The summer bundle was designed specifically for that problem, the kind that internal-communications and procurement teams usually discover once they are already on tour. Every piece has been heat-tested in operations by our northern clients: the double-walled vacuum thermos at 750 ml holds 14 hours with ice outdoors; the polyester technical polo with cool-finish treatment dries 3 times faster than cotton; the polyester cap with side mesh and sweatband holds 8 hours of continuous use under sun; the backpack with 3D-mesh back panel reduces heat transfer to body and laptop.

These are the details that separate a generic kit from a bundle that the operational team genuinely appreciates. When a corporate tells us "we are touring plants in Chihuahua and Juárez the first week of July", we respond with a kit tested for that specific operation. When it is for an outdoor event on the Riviera Maya, we adjust colours (light tones to reflect heat) and materials (saline-humidity resistant). When it is for a stand at Expo Guadalajara in August, we prioritise pieces that get handed to the team at hotel check-in without having to pick them up at the warehouse.

Components of the summer bundle

The bundle runs in two versions: the plant-operations kit (5 pieces) for corporates with floor personnel during summer, and the tour or event kit (7 pieces) for commercial, marketing or fair teams moving between venues. Both share the thermos and the cap, and add pieces specific to each case.

750 ml hydration thermos with vacuum insulation

18/8 stainless-steel bottle with double-walled vacuum, 750 ml capacity, screw-top lid with closure spout. Keeps cold drinks 14 hours with ice and hot 8 hours outdoors. Single-colour laser engraving of the logo. NOM-251 compliant for food contact. Silver, white, navy or matte black colour. Delivered with internal label carrying the employee number and campaign year for inventory control.

Technical cap with side mesh and sweatband

Polyester cap with solid front and breathable mesh sides, internal sweatband, velcro or metal buckle closure. Front embroidery of the logo in 1 or 2 colours. Pre-curved visor. Ideal for continuous sun use on the plant floor or outdoor tour. Base colours: white, sand beige, sky blue, light grey. Side mesh reduces thermal sensation by 2 to 3 degrees versus a closed cap.

Cool-finish quick-dry technical polo

100% recycled polyester polo with hydrophobic cool-finish treatment, flat seams that don't chafe under sweat, UPF 30 UV protection. Unisex cut with women's cut option. Sizes XS to XXL. Sublimation print or 1-colour plastisol screen-print for maximum durability. The garment dries 3 times faster than cotton and keeps shape after 50 washes.

Ventilated backpack with 3D back panel

600D ballistic polyester backpack with 3D-mesh back panel that reduces heat transfer to body and laptop, padded 15-inch laptop pocket, organiser main compartment, side bottle pocket, padded straps with mesh. TSA lock and external USB port optional. For long tours carrying laptop, documents and change of clothes.

Cases where the summer bundle solves specific problems

The first case is the northern IMMEX corporate. Plants in Chihuahua, Juárez, Saltillo, Monterrey, Reynosa and Matamoros operate all 12 months of the year and the months of June through August are the most physically demanding. When the corporate launches its summer program to recognise floor personnel (typically 200 to 1,500 per plant), the bundle handles hydration, sun protection and operational recognition in a single piece. Delivery is scheduled for the first week of June with restock during the critical months.

The second case is the commercial tour. When a sales or PR team tours 8 or 10 cities between June and August, the kit is delivered at the first venue and the team member carries it through the entire tour. The thermos gets refilled at each hotel, the cap is used for outdoor transfers, the technical polo replaces the corporate shirt on transfers. The use experience becomes part of the travel storytelling.

The third case is the outdoor fair stand. When the exhibition has outdoor floor space (Expo Guadalajara summer edition, regional fairs in León, livestock fairs in Monterrey, stands in Veracruz and Acapulco), the exhibitor staff need merch that works under sun. The cap and technical polo become part of the stand's operating uniform. They arrive pre-labelled per person so the exhibitor just distributes them on arrival.

The fourth case is the incentive travel event in a tourist destination. When the corporate rewards its team with a trip to Cancún, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos or Puerto Vallarta between June and September, the welcome kit at the hotel includes thermos, cap, technical polo and a microfibre towel with logo. Delivery happens at hotel check-in coordinated with the property and the tour operator.

Summer logistics in Mexico

Summer imposes three logistical constraints the rest of the year doesn't have. The first is the extreme heat in the north, which requires plant warehouses and distribution points to operate extended hours and packaging to resist up to 50°C in closed boxes. The second is hurricane season in the Gulf and Pacific, which between June and November can delay deliveries to Veracruz, Tampico, Mérida, Cancún, Acapulco and Mazatlán. The third is the Holy Week closure and holiday bridges that in some regions paralyse courier operations for 4 or 5 days.

To run the summer bundle under these conditions, we maintain extra capacity in our Mexico City, Guadalajara and Monterrey workshops during May, June, July and August. Production is scheduled two weeks ahead of the order to absorb any climate disruption. Northern shipments go out Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid cargo sitting in courier warehouses over the weekend under extreme heat. Tourist-destination shipments go with couriers that have local operation (iVoy, Paquetexpress) and national backup (DHL, FedEx) when escalation is needed.

For corporates with IMMEX plants in the north, we can deliver directly to the plant with timing coordinated with the security team and material safeguarding. The CFDI 4.0 invoice is issued weekly or monthly per the client's calendar, with USO CFDI G03 (general expenses) and 16% IVA broken out. For corporates whose program crosses the border into the United States, the packaging complies with USMCA origin and NOM-004 labelling requirements.

Pricing, MOQ and timelines

Pricing in MXN before 16% IVA. The plant-operations kit (5 pieces) starts at $1,180 MXN per unit from MOQ 50. In monthly recurring series from 500 pieces per month, the cost drops to $920 MXN. The tour or event kit (7 pieces) starts at $1,680 MXN from MOQ 30 and drops to $1,340 MXN from 100 units. The incentive travel kit at tourist destinations is quoted per destination and season.

Standard production times are 10 to 14 business days for the full kit with personalisation (generic client logo). Series above 500 pieces require 18 to 22 business days with scheduling two weeks ahead. Urgent orders for last-minute tours ship in 5 to 7 business days with a 35% surcharge on the unit price.

For corporates with a fixed calendar (typically IMMEX with an annual program running May through August), we run a contract with preferential pricing, capacity guaranteed during critical months, and safety stock for the highest-rotation pieces. The invoice is issued at the end of each month with the corresponding CFDI 4.0 and charged to the client's corporate account with IVA broken out.

FAQ — summer bundle

Does the technical polo protect from sun?

Yes. The cool-finish polo has UPF 30 UV protection, which filters approximately 96% of UVB radiation. For plant operations with direct sun exposure, we recommend the long-sleeve technical version that raises protection to UPF 50. The garment keeps its protection after 50 washes per the manufacturer's technical sheet.

Can you deliver directly to an IMMEX plant?

Yes. We coordinate direct delivery to plants in Chihuahua, Juárez, Saltillo, Monterrey, Reynosa, Matamoros, Hermosillo and Mexicali with security-team timing. The CFDI 4.0 invoice includes the Carta Porte 3.0 complemento when delivery crosses the border or takes place in a free zone. For IMMEX, the pedimento is issued with our customs agent when applicable.

What if there is a hurricane during delivery?

When NOAA or Mexico's Servicio Meteorológico Nacional declares a category 3 or higher hurricane at a tourist destination (Cancún, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco), we reschedule delivery at no cost. For corporates with incentive travel planned, we have backup routes to alternative destinations (Mexico City, Puebla, Querétaro, San Miguel de Allende) that we can activate 48 hours in advance.

Do you handle corporate colours or only catalogue colours?

We handle both. For series above 500 pieces, we dye the polyester in the corporate Pantone with an additional dye charge. For smaller series, we use the base catalogue colours (white, sand beige, sky blue, light grey, navy, black) and apply a 1- or 2-colour logo on the dyed garment.

Do you comply with NOM-251 for the thermos?

Yes. All our thermoses and bottles carry the NOM-251 certificate regulating food contact. The certificate is renewed annually and delivered to the client when their internal audit or compliance area requires it. The laser engraving does not affect compliance because it is not in direct contact with the liquid.

Can you ship the kit to the incentive travel hotel?

Yes. We coordinate with the hotel property (Cancún, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, Huatulco) so the kit is in the employee's room at check-in. The delivery confirmation reaches the client's HR team and the tour operator by email with a photo of the delivered piece.
