Final tourism package: the kit the travel agent or hotel guest takes home from the FAM trip

The final tourism package is the physical kit a corporate brings to a FAM trip, a destination-marketing campaign, a hotel re-opening, a resort launch, a tour-operator summit or a tourism-board promotional tour. The package carries the destination's brand and identity, the property's local-producer partnerships, and the curated objects that make the destination tangible after the trip ends. We work with destination marketing organisations (Cancún Tourism, Los Cabos Tourism Board, Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, Oaxaca Tourism Board, Huatulco Tourism Board, Mérida Tourism Board, Guanajuato Tourism Board), hotel groups (Grupo Posadas, Grupo Hotelero Santa Fe, NH México, Marriott Mexico, Hilton Mexico, IHG Mexico, Hyatt Inclusive Collection, Karisma Hotels, Palace Resorts, Barceló Hotel Group, BlueBay Hotels, Meliá Mexico), tour operators (Viajes El Corte Inglés, Mundo Joven, Best Day Travel, PriceTravel, Booking.com Mexico) and airlines (Aeroméxico, Volaris, Viva Aerobus). Production from 50 pieces per destination or per FAM trip. CFDI 4.0 invoicing filed at SAT, 16% VAT, SPEI payment complement, deductibility assessment per CFF article 27, and customs handling under USMCA for tourism drops to US and Canadian travel agents.

Capture, dietary restrictions and tax deductibility

The final tourism package requires pre-collection of the recipient's full name, travel agency or hotel group, country of origin, dietary, religious or cultural restrictions (vegan, kosher, halal, gluten-free, nut-free), and the FAM trip's calendar with arrival and departure dates. The capture sheet is cross-referenced with the destination marketing organisation's CRM and the duplicates are removed before piloting. For cross-border FAM trips under USMCA, the package is shipped to US and Canadian travel agents with FedEx International Priority or DHL Express.

Tax deductibility of the tourism-package expense follows CFF article 27 and the SECTUR guidelines for tourism promotion: the package must be supported by a CFDI 4.0 with the destination marketing organisation's or hotel group's tax data, and the expense must be strictly necessary for the destination's promotional activity. For cross-border FAM trips under USMCA we issue CFDI 4.0 with the export complement and the customs documentation (pedimento, CO, commercial invoice) when the package crosses the border.

Delivery, hotel coordination and customs

The final tourism package is delivered to the destination marketing organisation's office, the hotel group's corporate office, or the resort's loading dock with 5 to 10 business days of anticipation for the FAM trip. For hotel groups with multiple properties (Posadas, Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG) we coordinate with the corporate marketing office and the property's general manager for delivery to the destination. For destination marketing organisations we coordinate with the marketing director for delivery to the destination's main hotel or convention centre.

For cross-border FAM trips under USMCA we ship with FedEx International Priority or DHL Express, full tracking, signature on delivery and the customs documentation required by SAT (pedimento, CO, commercial invoice). The CFDI 4.0 invoice is filed to the destination marketing organisation or hotel group with a breakdown by category, 16% VAT and SPEI payment complement in MXN or USD.
