Asia Q1 Package (permanent programme): the base quarter that keeps operational dialogue with Asia running year-round

The first quarter of the Asia-Pacific calendar (January to March) concentrates three signals that Mexican corporates with IMMEX operations and Asian clients treat as the operational kickoff of the exercise. The first is Chinese New Year, which changes date each year per the traditional Chinese calendar and triggers the corporate gifting calendar among commercial partners and suppliers in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The second is the kickoff of the Japanese fiscal year on 1 April, which financial and strategic-planning areas treat as the dialogue window with Japanese clients in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya. The third is the prospective commercial mission to Seoul with Korean clients in electronics, semiconductors and digital entertainment sectors, and the mission to Taipei with Taiwanese clients in semiconductors, electronics and technology sectors. The permanent Asia Q1 package covers the three signals as a single logistical and fiscal piece, designed to operate year after year without being tied to the exact date of Chinese New Year or to a particular Japanese fiscal calendar.

China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan: four fiscal calendars, one dialogue

The Asian fiscal calendar does not align with the Mexican or European fiscal calendar, and Mexican corporates with IMMEX operations and Asian clients must read the four calendars in parallel. Mainland China closes its fiscal year on 31 December each year and opens on 1 January, with the Chinese New Year pause (Chunyun) that varies in date each year and affects logistics of shipments from Asia during three weeks. Japan closes its fiscal year on 31 March each year and opens on 1 April, with the Golden Week pause (29 April to 5 May) that affects logistics of shipments from Japan during one week. South Korea operates with a calendar similar to the Japanese one but with different pauses (Lunar New Year in February, Liberation Day 15 August). Taiwan follows the mainland China calendar with additional pauses (228 Peace Memorial Day 28 February, Constitution Day 25 December).

The permanent Asia Q1 package leverages the four calendars to offer a single logistical piece that covers Chinese New Year, Seoul preview mission, Taipei mission and Japanese fiscal kickoff. We operate a temporary warehouse in Hong Kong for Chinese corporate gifts, a temporary warehouse in Tokyo for the Japanese fiscal mission, a temporary warehouse in Seoul for the Korean preview mission and a temporary warehouse in Taipei for the Taiwanese mission, all with 24/7 security and consolidated corporate kit reception for redistribution.
