Asia 2026 Q1 Package: the quarter that reopens Asia with Chinese New Year and the Japanese fiscal kickoff

The first quarter of the Asia-Pacific calendar concentrates three signals that Mexican corporates with IMMEX operations in Tijuana, Ciudad Juárez and Querétaro (with Asian clients) treat as the operational kickoff of 2026. The first is Chinese New Year on 17 February 2026, which starts the Year of the Horse per the traditional Chinese calendar and triggers the corporate gifting calendar among commercial partners and suppliers in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The second is CES Las Vegas from 6 to 9 January 2026, where innovation and Digital Transformation areas of Mexican corporates with electronic and medical-device products cross paths with Asian suppliers (Samsung, Sony, Foxconn, TSMC, LG, SK Hynix) at the same fair venue. The third is the kickoff of the Japanese fiscal year on 1 April 2026, which financial and strategic-planning areas treat as the dialogue window with Japanese clients in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya. The Asia 2026 Q1 package covers the three signals as a single logistical and fiscal piece.

China, Japan and Korea: three fiscal calendars, one dialogue

The Asian fiscal calendar does not align with the Mexican or the European fiscal calendar, and Mexican corporates with IMMEX operations and Asian clients must read the three calendars in parallel. Mainland China closes its fiscal year on 31 December each year and opens on 1 January, with the Chinese New Year pause (Chunyun) in 2026 running from 14 to 22 February that affects logistics of shipments from Asia during three weeks. Japan closes its fiscal year on 31 March each year and opens on 1 April, with the Golden Week pause (29 April to 5 May 2026) that affects logistics of shipments from Japan during one week. South Korea operates with a calendar similar to the Japanese one but with different pauses (Lunar New Year 16–18 February 2026, Liberation Day 15 August).

The Asia Q1 2026 package leverages the kickoff of the three calendars to offer a single logistical piece that covers CES Las Vegas in January, Chinese New Year in February, Seoul preview mission in March, and Japanese fiscal kickoff in April. We operate a temporary warehouse in Hong Kong for Chinese corporate gifts, a temporary warehouse in Tokyo for the Japanese fiscal mission, and a temporary warehouse in Seoul for the Korean preview mission, all with 24/7 security and consolidated corporate kit reception for redistribution to the different stands, missions and corporate gifts.

Export pedimento, Asia compliance and long-distance logistics

SAT invoicing for shipments toward Asia operates with the foreign-trade complement when the destination is a non-USMCA country, with 0% VAT rate and breakdown of temporary or definitive export pedimento. For shipments to mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and South Korea we operate with IATA-insured courier from Tijuana International Airport or Mexico City International Airport, with piece-by-piece tracking and consolidated delivery at the destination corporate warehouse. For shipments to Japan we operate with consolidated IATA courier from Tijuana or CDMX airport, with transit time of 36 to 48 hours to Tokyo Narita, Kansai or Chubu Centrair. For shipments to Las Vegas (CES) we operate via land route from Tijuana to the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Mexican customs compliance is handled by the customs broker in Tijuana or CDMX for shipments to Asia, with Carta Porte 3.0 stamped at the SAT and complement of vehicle, operator and goods identification for land transit to the airport. The local customs broker at destination handles import clearance and local VAT with destination payment or exemption with temporary waybill. For shipments to Las Vegas, Mexican customs compliance applies USMCA with land transit through the Tijuana-San Diego border and delivery to the corporate warehouse in Las Vegas. Recipient data treatment complies with LFPDPPP and is deleted from our systems 90 days after the event.
