Salon N-7: the room where the ALCO reviews the rate gap and the member kit lands before the Banxico presentation

Salon N-7 sits inside one of the asset-liability committee (ALCO) complexes in the banks and brokerages of the Polanco-Santa Fe corridor of Mexico City: a rectangular table seating eleven, dual screens for the rate gap and the net interest margin sensitivity, lecterns for the CRO and the treasurer, a video conferencing room linked to New York and Madrid, a holding foyer for working coffee, a dumbwaiter from the floor kitchen, and an independent access door for the bank's compliance officer. This is where the weekly ALCO sessions of the multiple banking institutions run, where the monthly risk committee meetings of the brokerages take place, where the sensitivity reports on Banxico target rate moves are reviewed, and where the liquidity committee sessions of the sofipos convene. What separates Salon N-7 from a standard risk room is the documentary order: the ALCO member kit enters before the Banxico presentation, exits signed by each member at close, and respects the sensitivity limits of the interest rate model.

Salon N-7 logistics, access and custody

Salon N-7 runs on a freight dock shared with the operations floor: the lateral dock accepts 5-ton trailers within restricted hours and by prior booking, and the 2-ton box truck has its own ramp under permanent surveillance. Pedestrian freight access requires prior ID, the bank's credential and a logbook signature from the compliance area; there is no informal access and no entry through the bank's main door. The operations staff delivers the ALCO member folder with visible ID and credential, and handles restocking during the coffee. Salon N-7's back-of-house has three areas: the ALCO holding foyer (where the folder is staged), the video conferencing room (where the remaining merch sits in sealed boxes) and the bank's compliance officer's room (where reserved material is kept under signature).

For ALCO sessions with international external auditor presence (typically from the US, Canada, Europe and Asia), we handle invoicing in USD at the Banco de Mexico FIX rate from the day before the session, with USMCA compliance and support for deduction as Risk Management or Treasury expense in the bank's fiscal close. For sessions with CNBV or Policia Bancaria e Industrial presence, we handle compliance with the bank's security protocol and the bank's compliance protocol when applicable. The merch chain of custody is documented with signature, time stamp and photo at every checkpoint: dock entry, compliance inspection, back-of-house transfer, restocking during the coffee, post-session pickup.

Salon N-7 confidentiality, compliance and restrictions

Salon N-7 enforces operating rules the merch must respect: phones off inside the room during ALCO deliberations, no merch with noise or distraction elements, no large backpacks or bags inside the room (members leave their gear in the holding foyer), no POP material carrying competitor logos (frequently requested by banks), no outside food or beverages beyond the floor catering service, no non-uniformed personnel in the back-of-house during the session. For sessions that require limited-edition merchandising (numbered bank anniversary plaque, book signed by the guest author, paperweight stamped with the regulatory report year), we coordinate with the compliance area to ensure the piece clears the security protocol, the Basel III protocol and the confidentiality protocol when the session is reserved.

For SAT invoicing we issue CFDI 4.0 with the 16% IVA breakdown and support for deduction as Risk Management, Treasury or Banking Regulation Compliance expense depending on how the merch is used. For banks with IMMEX operations or US exposure we handle complementary invoicing in USD with the foreign trade complement and USMCA compliance when the merch crosses the border as part of the reserved material for the international consultant resident abroad. For financial groups with dual listings, we handle bilingual (es/en) invoicing and USMCA compliance. Merch is delivered with carta porte 3.0 when interstate or international transit applies, with the foreign trade complement when applicable, and with the payment complement when the bank pays in instalments.

Coordination with the risk management office for the editorial curation of the folder.

Can you invoice the merch as Risk Management expense?

Yes — we issue CFDI 4.0 to the SAT with the 16% IVA breakdown and deduction support as Risk Management, Treasury or Banking Regulation Compliance expense depending on how the merch is used.
