Salon N-2: the room where the investment committee approves the portfolio and the analyst kit lands before the model

Salon N-2 sits inside one of the asset manager complexes in the Polanco and Lomas de Chapultepec corridor of Mexico City: a commission table with twelve seats, dual screens for performance review, the CIO's lectern, a video conferencing room linked to New York and London, a holding foyer for working breakfast, and an independent access door for the compliance auditor. This is where the monthly AFORE committees run, where the quarterly brokerage house committees convene, where independent asset managers conduct portfolio due diligence, where family offices run their investment committees, and where private debt funds hold their sessions. What separates Salon N-2 from a standard meeting room is the documentary order: the analyst kit enters before the valuation model, exits signed by each committee member at close, and respects the investment limits of the strategy's prospectus.

Salon N-2 logistics, access and custody

Salon N-2 runs on a freight dock shared with the operations floor: the lateral dock accepts 6-ton trailers within restricted hours and by prior booking, and the 2-ton box truck has its own ramp on the east side. Pedestrian freight access requires prior ID, the asset manager's credential and a logbook signature from the compliance area; there is no informal access and no entry through the corporate main door. The operations staff delivers the analyst folder with visible ID and credential, and handles restocking during the session recess. Salon N-2's back-of-house has three areas: the committee holding foyer (where the folder is staged), the video conferencing room (where the remaining merch sits in sealed boxes) and the compliance auditor's room (where reserved material is kept under signature).

For sessions with international analyst presence (typically from the US, Canada, Europe and Asia), we handle invoicing in USD at the Banco de Mexico FIX rate from the day before the session, with USMCA compliance and support for deduction as Portfolio Management or Regulatory Compliance expense in the asset manager's fiscal close. For sessions with regulator presence (CNBV, CONSAR, Banxico), we handle compliance with the corporate security protocol and the compliance protocol when applicable. The merch chain of custody is documented with signature, time stamp and photo at every checkpoint: dock entry, compliance inspection, back-of-house transfer, restocking during the recess, post-session pickup.

Salon N-2 confidentiality, compliance and restrictions

Salon N-2 enforces operating rules the merch must respect: phones off inside the room during committee deliberations, no merch with noise or distraction elements, no large backpacks or bags inside the room (analysts leave their gear in the holding foyer), no POP material carrying third-party logos (frequently requested by asset managers), no outside food or beverages beyond the corporate catering service, no non-uniformed personnel in the back-of-house during the session. For sessions that require limited-edition merchandising (numbered strategy anniversary plaque, book signed by the guest author, paperweight stamped with the fund year), we coordinate with the compliance area to ensure the piece clears the security protocol, the confidentiality protocol and the investment protocol when the session is reserved.

For SAT invoicing we issue CFDI 4.0 with the 16% IVA breakdown and support for deduction as Portfolio Management, Regulatory Compliance or Investment Analysis expense depending on how the merch is used. For asset managers with international operations or US exposure, we handle complementary invoicing in USD or EUR with USMCA compliance support when the merch crosses the border as part of the reserved material for the international analyst resident abroad. For asset managers with BMV and offshore presence, we handle bilingual (es/en) invoicing and USMCA compliance. Merch is delivered with carta porte 3.0 when interstate or international transit applies, with the foreign trade complement when applicable, and with the payment complement when the asset manager pays in instalments.

Salon N-2 frequently asked questions

Can you deliver the analyst folder with a per-committee-member signed receipt?

Yes — we deliver the folder with a per-committee-member (not per-session) signed receipt, with the senior analyst's signature, the delivery time stamp and the signature of the uniformed delivery staff. The chain of custody is documented with photos when the compliance protocol allows, and the folder stays in a sealed envelope throughout the day for return at the close of the session.

Can you handle merch for investment committees that repeat every month?

Yes — we run a monthly cadence with the same brand manual, scaling the run size to the committee agenda and the special guests (international portfolio managers, SEC observers when applicable, external auditors). Coordination with the chief investment officer's office for the editorial curation of the folder.

Can you invoice the merch as Portfolio Management expense?

Yes — we issue CFDI 4.0 to the SAT with the 16% IVA breakdown and deduction support as Portfolio Management, Regulatory Compliance or Investment Analysis expense depending on how the merch is used. For asset managers with international operations we handle complementary invoicing in USD with the foreign trade complement and USMCA compliance.

Is Corp-Merch an official partner of Salon N-2?

No. Corp-Merch.MX is an independent atelier of curation, production and logistics for merch at investment committee sessions, portfolio due diligence and asset manager gatherings in Salon N-2 and other Mexico City venues. Salon N-2 is referenced for descriptive purposes only.
