Salon L-6: the room where the cross-dock coordinator decides which pallet crosses the dock first and the forklift driver kit lands before the day's last container

Salon L-6 is a cross-dock operations room in a wholesale distribution centre: 95-inch touchscreen with the real-time WMS, backup projector, 28 planning stations in a horseshoe with dual screens, video conferencing to the national CEDIS network, round-the-clock coffee service, dock with night access for unloading trailers, audio system with individual mics to record the session. Daily cross-dock planning sessions run here, along with pre-peak season briefings with destination vendor presence, capacity committees with the brand owner of the freight, optimisation sessions with the WMS vendor, and month-end sessions with the CEDIS director. What sets Salon L-6 apart is not the staging (which is austere and operational) but the rotation speed: every merch piece has to land signed for by the receiving forklift driver, exit with the warehouse control sheet, and let the day's planning close without merch logistics delaying the first unloading.

Salon L-6 logistics, access and chain of custody

Salon L-6 runs on a freight dock shared with the CEDIS: the lateral dock accepts 12-ton trailers inside restricted hours (typically 4:00 to 7:00 and 19:00 to 22:00, to avoid interference with CEDIS operations), and the 3.5-ton box truck has its own ramp on the east side. Pedestrian freight access requires prior ID, CEDIS credential, logbook signature and CEDIS security protocol compliance; there is no informal access and no entry through the main door. CEDIS operations staff delivers the POP material and the forklift driver kits with visible ID and credential, and handles restocking during continuous coffee break recesses. Salon L-6's back-of-house has two areas: the planning room (where the forklift driver kit is staged and the per-dock delivery is signed) and the operations store (where the remaining merch sits in sealed boxes bearing the corporate seal).

For daily sessions with international vendor presence (typically from the US, Canada or Mexico), we handle invoicing in USD at the Banco de Mexico FIX rate from the day before the event, with USMCA compliance when applicable and support for deduction as CEDIS compliance expense or International Client Relations expense in the corporate fiscal close. For sessions with the brand owner of the freight or the WMS vendor, we handle compliance with the CEDIS security protocol and the brand protocol when applicable. The merch chain of custody is documented with signature, time stamp and photo at every checkpoint: dock entry, operations inspection, back-of-house transfer, restocking during recesses, post-event pickup.

Salon L-6 confidentiality, compliance and restrictions

Salon L-6 enforces operating rules the merch must respect: no camera phones inside the room during planning sessions, no merch with noise or distraction elements, no large backpacks or bags inside the room (forklift drivers leave their gear in the planning room), no POP material carrying competitor logos to the destination vendor, no outside food or beverages beyond the CEDIS catering service. For sessions that require limited-edition merchandising (numbered anniversary polo, tool engraved with the year, paperweight stamped with peak season close), we coordinate with CEDIS operations to ensure the piece clears the security protocol, the CEDIS compliance protocol and the traceability protocol when the daily session requires serial-number inventory control of the merch.

For SAT invoicing we issue CFDI 4.0 with the 16% IVA breakdown and support for deduction as CEDIS operations expense, cross-dock planning expense or International Client Relations expense depending on how the merch is used. For CEDIS with cross-border distribution operations, we handle complementary invoicing in USD with USMCA compliance support when the merch crosses the border as part of the compliance material for the destination vendor. For CEDIS with dual listings (BMV and NYSE/Nasdaq), we handle bilingual (es/en) invoicing and USMCA compliance when the forklift driver kit crosses the border as part of the compliance material for the vendor resident abroad. Merch is delivered with carta porte 3.0 when interstate or international transit applies, with the foreign trade complement when applicable, and with the payment complement when the corporate pays in instalments.

CEDIS forklift driver kit — from MXN 650 per piece before VAT at a 240-piece run. CEDIS staff merch — from MXN 1,750 per person at a 28-piece run. Vendor and brand hospitality — from MXN 2,050 per piece at a 32-piece run. Forklift driver of the month recognition — from MXN 5,200 per piece at a 4-piece run.
For daily sessions on high-demand dates (pre-peak season, quarter close, vendor audit) we block the calendar 60 days ahead with a firm written commitment. For daily sessions on low-demand dates we block 30 days ahead. Express production under 14 days carries a +35% surcharge for the curation and dispatch. The reservation runs on a fourteen-point brief: event date, CEDIS or dock, attendee count, pieces per package, corporate brand manual, corporate colour palette, CEDIS security protocol, broadcast compliance, freight logistics, post-event donation, SAT invoicing and USMCA compliance when the merch crosses the border.

Salon L-6 frequently asked questions

Can you deliver the forklift driver kit with a per-dock signature of receipt?

Yes — we deliver the kit with per-dock acknowledgement (not per individual forklift driver), with supervisor or operations manager signature, delivery time and uniformed delivery staff signature. The chain of custody is documented with photo when the CEDIS protocol allows, and the kit is kept in a sealed envelope for the entire day for return at the close of the daily session.

Can you handle merch for sessions that repeat every day?

Yes — we run daily programming with the same brand manual, scaling the run size based on the session agenda and the special guests (international vendor, brand owner of the freight, WMS vendor). Coordination with CEDIS operations for the editorial curation of the forklift driver kit.

Can you invoice the merch as CEDIS operations expense?

Yes — we issue CFDI 4.0 to the SAT with the 16% IVA breakdown and support for deduction as CEDIS operations expense, cross-dock planning expense or International Client Relations expense depending on how the merch is used. For CEDIS with distribution operations, we handle complementary invoicing in USD with the foreign trade complement and USMCA compliance.

Is Corp-Merch an official partner of Salon L-6?

No. Corp-Merch.MX is an independent curation, production and logistics workshop for merch at daily cross-dock planning sessions, pre-peak season briefings and CEDIS optimisation in Salon L-6 and other Mexican distribution centres. Salon L-6 is mentioned solely for descriptive purposes about the sector.
