Salon D-13: the room where the commodities desk closes the corn hedge contract and the physical operator kit lands before the position opens at CBOT

Salon D-13 is the commodities desk operations room of a Bajio IMMEX corporate in Polanco: 10 stations with Refinitiv Eikon and Bloomberg terminals, wall screen with the corn, wheat, soybean and industrial metals (copper, aluminium, zinc) futures curve, dedicated line with Chicago and London brokers, back-office hold room for physical operations with logbook, biometric security door, no informal access or main door entry. This is where the 6:00 AM CDMX daily commodities meetings run, where the weekly grain and metals coverage committees sit, where calls with Cargill, ADM, Bunge, Louis Dreyfus and Glencore desks land, where quarterly physical position closes happen, where Risk Committee physical exposure reports land, and where coverage planning sessions for Bajio, North and West plants run. What separates Salon D-13 from the technology is the physical contract traceability: the operator kit enters before CBOT opens, signed contracts exit sealed to the back-office, and the invited broker merch is USMCA-compliant when it crosses the border with the warrant documentation.

Salon D-13 logistics, access and physical custody

Salon D-13 runs on a dedicated service elevator: freight travels up the south-wing service elevator with restricted hours and a physical compliance logbook; there is no informal access and the biometric turnstiles record every entry and exit with photo. Light freight (operator kits, bottled water, morning biscuits) goes up with ID, credential and the corporate operations lead signature. The merch is staged in the physical operations back-office hold room and the delivery is signed with rotating code. The room has no windows: lighting is artificial, terminals dominate the environment and the merch must not interfere with reading the screens. For sessions with Risk Committee or external auditor presence, the merch is documented with the corporate seal and internal folio.

For meetings with international broker presence (Cargill, ADM, Bunge, Louis Dreyfus, Glencore, Trafigura, Vitol, Mercuria), we handle invoicing in USD at the Banco de Mexico FIX rate from the day before delivery, with USMCA compliance when the merch crosses the border, and support for deduction as Commodities Coverage or Physical Operations expense in the corporate fiscal close. For meetings with Risk Committee or external auditor presence, we handle compliance with the corporate security protocol and the Policia Bancaria e Industrial protocol when applicable. The chain of custody is documented with signature, time stamp and folio at every checkpoint.

Salon D-13 confidentiality, compliance and restrictions

Salon D-13 enforces physical compliance rules the merch must respect: no personal audio or video devices during market hours, no merch with noise or visual distraction elements, no backpacks or bags inside the room (operators use hallway lockers), no POP material carrying third-party logos (external brokers receive merch before entering the room), no outside food or beverages beyond the corporate kitchen service. For sessions that require limited-edition merchandising (25th anniversary polo of the corporate physical coverage, book signed by the former ASERCA head, paperweight stamped with the year of the Rural Development Law reform), we coordinate with the corporate operations area and the Risk Committee to ensure the piece clears the compliance protocol and the physical coverage protocol.

For SAT invoicing we issue CFDI 4.0 with the 16% IVA breakdown and support for deduction as Commodities Coverage, Physical Operations or Commodities Treasury expense depending on how the merch is used. For corporates with IMMEX operations or US market exposure, we handle complementary invoicing in USD with USMCA compliance support when the broker kit crosses the border as part of the coverage material. For groups with dual listings (BMV and NYSE/Nasdaq), we handle bilingual (es/en) invoicing and carta porte 3.0 with the foreign trade complement. The payment complement applies when the corporate pays in instalments or when delivery happens against the head of commodities' signed receipt.
