Salon C-5: the bilingual room where the director from Madrid or Toronto hears the translation and takes the kit home with the title intact

Salon C-5 sits on the 12th floor of the Roma-Condesa corridor where, twice a year, the international advisory boards of Mexican corporates with US and Latin American operations meet: 8 horseshoe-arranged seats with simultaneous translation in a soundproof booth, a lectern for the corporate CEO, a five-metre LED screen with simultaneous Spanish and English projection, an annexed room with an international phone line and a closed kitchen with bilingual service. This is where the international advisory boards of Mexican groups with directors from Madrid, Toronto, London or Bogotá gather, where the advisory boards of companies internationalising meet, where the boards of Mexican subsidiaries of US corporates convene, and where the advisory boards of binational chambers (AmCham, Spanish chamber, Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Mexico) hold their sessions. What separates Salon C-5 is the bilingual ritual: the director kit enters before the translation, exits signed for by each international director at close, and lets the secretariat archive the bilingual minutes without the merch pulling attention from the agenda.

Salon C-5 logistics, access and custody

Salon C-5 shares its 12th-floor freight dock: the side dock takes a 3.5-tonne van on a restricted shift. Access requires pre-registration, a complex-issued badge and a signed floor log; the bilingual material is moved straight from the dock to the sealed chamber without going through the lobby. The Salon C-5 operations team delivers the board material with visible ID and is responsible for safeguarding the material not delivered to the floor chamber. The annexed room with an international phone line is used for calls with directors who cannot attend in person, when the session requires their participation by videoconference.

For sessions with international directors (from the US, Canada, Europe, Latin America and Asia), we invoice in USD at the Banco de México FIX exchange rate of the day before, with USMCA compliance and support for deduction as a Corporate Governance or International Relations expense in the corporate fiscal close. For sessions with binational chambers and commercial attachés present, we comply with the complex security protocol and with diplomatic practices where applicable. The merch custody chain is documented with signature, time and seal at each control point: dock intake, operations inspection, transfer to the sealed chamber, delivery to the corporate CEO, recess restocking, post-session pickup, return of surplus to the corporate.

Salon C-5 confidentiality, compliance and prohibitions

Salon C-5 has operating rules the merch must respect: no mobile phone use in the room during the bilingual minutes reading, no merch items that would generate noise or distraction in Spanish or English, no backpacks or bags in the room (directors use the sealed chamber for their gear), no POP material bearing third-party logos when the session discusses the corporate internationalisation, no food or beverages other than the 12th-floor kitchen service. For sessions requiring limited-edition merchandising (numbered anniversary t-shirt, international author-signed book, binational agreement year paperweight), we coordinate with the complex operations area to make sure the piece complies with the security protocol, the diplomatic protocol where applicable, and the bilingual archival protocol.

For SAT invoicing we issue CFDI 4.0 with 16% IVA breakdown and support for deduction as a Corporate Governance, International Relations or Investor Relations expense, depending on the merch use. For corporates with IMMEX or US operations we issue complementary invoicing in USD or EUR and support USMCA compliance when the director kit crosses the border as part of the parent's corporate governance archive. For groups with Latin American operations we issue complementary invoicing in local currency and comply with each jurisdiction's tax practices. The merch ships with carta porte 3.0 when interstate or international transit applies, with the foreign trade complement where applicable, and with the payment complement when the corporate pays in instalments.
