Salon B-2 Bajio: the room where the Queretaro IMMEX plant unveils the new line and the merch clears Laredo the same week

Salon B-2 is one of the industrial halls of the Queretaro-San Luis Potosi-Apodaca corridor, inside the industrial park that hosts the IMMEX (Manufacturing, Maquiladora and Export Service Industry) plants of the automotive, electronics, home appliance and medical device sectors: 480 sqm polished concrete floor, 9-metre clear height, overhead crane for prototype rigging, 220V three-phase and 480V power outlets for machinery, HEPA-filtered air extraction, 53-ft trailer dock access at grade, compressed air room for pneumatic tests, videoconference room for direct link to the customer in Detroit, Stuttgart or Yokohama, temporary prototype store with 24/7 surveillance, press room for local and regional outlets (El Financiero Bajio, Milenio Queretaro, El Economista Industrial), 200-seat corporate-catered cafeteria. This is where Bajio-plant OEMs stage new line launches, Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier industrial fairs, demonstrations of new manufacturing processes (stamping, plastic injection, CNC machining, robotic welding), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) with customer engineering teams, industrial park community open days, symbolic donation deliveries to local educational institutions. What separates Salon B-2 from a polished trade-show pavilion is the IMMEX logistics chain: merch delivered to US or Canadian suppliers must exit the country under the IMMEX programme with a foreign trade complement, with an export pedimento, with USMCA compliance so the customer receives the merch under preferential tariff treatment, and with enough lead time for the merch to reach its destination before the production part ships from the plant.

Salon B-2 IMMEX logistics, access and chain of custody

Salon B-2 runs on a grade-level freight dock for 53-ft trailers within restricted hours from 06:00 to 22:00, with prior supplier identification, industrial park credential and logbook signature with licence plate recognition. For merch crossing into the US or Canada under the IMMEX programme, we handle export with pedimento filed by our customs broker, with the CFDI 4.0 foreign trade complement, with USMCA compliance for preferential tariff treatment and international shipping via UPS, FedEx or DHL Express with cargo insurance, recipient signature and email confirmation of delivery. The lateral dock accepts 12-ton trailers within restricted hours, and the 3.5-ton box truck has its own ramp on the east side. Pedestrian freight access requires prior ID, industrial park credential and logbook signature; there is no informal access and no entry through the main door. Salon B-2's back-of-house has three areas: the press room (where the supplier kit is staged and the per-supplier delivery is signed), the temporary prototype store (where the new part prototype sits under 24/7 surveillance) and the launch store (where the remaining merch sits in sealed boxes bearing the corporate seal).

For launches with international customer presence (typically the US, Canada, Germany and Japan), we handle invoicing in USD at the Banco de Mexico FIX rate from the day before the launch, with USMCA compliance and support for deduction as Product Development or Line Launch expense in the corporate fiscal close. For launches with Tier 1 supplier presence with Mexican tax residency, we handle invoicing in MXN with the foreign trade complement when the merch includes components imported temporarily under the IMMEX programme. For launches with public officials present (Secretaria de Economia, PRO Mexico, SE representatives), we handle compliance with the industrial park security protocol and the state police protocol when applicable. The merch chain of custody is documented with signature, timestamp, photo and licence plate recognition at every checkpoint: dock entry, operations inspection, transfer to the temporary prototype store, restocking during the open, post-launch pickup.

Salon B-2 confidentiality, compliance and restrictions

Salon B-2 enforces operating rules the merch must respect: no camera phones in the prototype zone (the new part is confidential until the official launch), no merch with noise or distraction elements on the production line, no backpacks or bags in the prototype area, no POP material carrying third-party logos (Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers are sometimes competitors), no outside food or beverages beyond the industrial park catering, no prototype leaving the plant without written authorisation from the engineering director. For launches that require limited-edition merchandising (numbered plant anniversary polo, tool engraved with the new part code, paperweight with launch date), we coordinate with the engineering director to ensure the piece clears the intellectual property protocol, the technical confidentiality protocol and the export protocol when the merch crosses the border as part of the IMMEX programme.

For SAT invoicing we issue CFDI 4.0 with the 16% IVA breakdown and support for deduction as Product Development, Line Launch or Industrial Marketing expense depending on how the merch is used. For corporates with IMMEX operations or US exposure, we handle complementary invoicing in USD with the foreign trade complement and USMCA compliance when the supplier kit crosses the border as part of the technical disclosure material for the international customer. For groups with dual listings (BMV and NYSE/Nasdaq) or operations in Turkey or Russia (through minority stakes or joint ventures), we handle complementary invoicing in USD, TRY or RUB with compliance with local invoicing and foreign exchange regulations. Merch is delivered with carta porte 3.0 when interstate or international transit applies, with the foreign trade complement when applicable, and with the payment complement when the corporate pays in instalments.

Tier 1 supplier kit — from MXN 1,250 per piece before VAT at a 100-piece run. Operator merch — from MXN 1,850 per person before VAT at a 50-piece run. International customer hospitality — from MXN 2,450 per piece before VAT at a 16-piece run. Outstanding operator recognition — from MXN 3,950 per piece before VAT at a 12-piece run. Pricing does not include the Salon B-2 rental, which is quoted directly with the industrial park events team depending on the day, the hours, the technical setup (prototype rigging, pneumatic tests, extraction system) and additional services (catering, coffee break, audiovisual gear, press room, encrypted broadcast to the international customer, 24/7 store surveillance).

For launches on high-demand dates (OEM launches with Bajio plants, industrial fairs with Tier 1 suppliers) we block the calendar 90 days ahead with a firm written commitment. For launches on low-demand dates we block 60 days ahead. Express production under 21 days carries a +35% surcharge for the curation and dispatch. The reservation runs on an eighteen-point brief: launch date, IMMEX plant, attendee count, pieces per package, corporate brand manual, corporate colour palette, technical confidentiality protocol, intellectual property protocol, IMMEX export protocol, cross-dock logistics to Laredo or Nuevo Laredo when applicable, SAT invoicing, foreign trade complement, USMCA compliance when the merch crosses the border, complementary USD invoicing when applicable, complementary TRY or RUB invoicing when applicable.
