Corporate launch: the bilingual kit and press embargo that carry the opening of a new line, brand or market

A corporate launch in Mexico is not a single event—it is three or four coordinated events with the same symbolic date: the internal kick-off with staff in CDMX or Monterrey, the press launch with media under embargo, the trade launch with key retail buyers at point of sale, and—when applicable—the regional opening event for corporate clients and distribution channels. A poorly executed launch ends with staff in generic polos carrying the supplier's brand visible, with the press kit shipped ahead of embargo and breaking the media story, with opening-staff uniforms delivered in plastic bags without protection, and with the trade launch gift bag containing products without NOM-024 labelling that cannot leave the bonded warehouse. We work on corporate launches for consumer groups, multinationals entering Mexico from abroad, Mexican corporates with USMCA border operations, and family-owned businesses in the middle of professionalisation. Billing closes with CFDI 4.0 to SAT, 16% IVA, deductible as Marketing, Communications, or Launch expense depending on the case.

Embargo, bilingual labelling and regulatory compliance

Press kit embargo handling works under protocol signed by the corporate press office, legal department, and each invited journalist. The kit ships with an embargo seal with exact date and time of release; the journalist signs receipt protocol and commits not to publish before the indicated date under contractual penalty. For international media, the bilingual ES/EN kit ships with the same embargo date across both time zones. The corporate press office coordinates kit delivery 5 to 8 days before the embargo date so journalists have time to prepare the story. Press kit billing issues with CFDI 4.0 to SAT with 16% IVA breakdown and support for deduction as Communications or Public Relations expense.

Bilingual labelling complies with NOM-024 for commercial information in Spanish and—when the product is sold in chains with English-speaking consumers (tourist zones, convenience chains with English labelling, USMCA exports)—we ship bilingual ES/EN labelling with mandatory information in both languages. The pilot product in the press kit ships with primary packaging in bilingual labelling and secondary packaging with the corporate's primary labelling. For products exported to the United States, we ship labelling compliant with FDA 21 CFR 101 (Food) or 21 CFR 801 (Medical Devices) per category; for textiles exported under USMCA we ship country-of-origin labelling compliant with 19 CFR 134.

Launch regulatory compliance operates with three considerations. First, gifts delivered to journalists and corporate clients may trigger ISR under Article 93 of the Ley del ISR when unit value exceeds MXN $5,000; we issue the corresponding withholding and integrate it into the CFDI 4.0. Second, for product samples with commercial value, the corporate tax area may request separate billing structure (no-commercial-value sample for press vs. gifts for clients) to support deduction as marketing expense. Third, for launches with exported product under IMMEX, billing issues in MXN with conversion at the Banco de México exchange rate of the day and support for deduction as export commercialisation expense under USMCA rules.

Launch logistics, venues and inventory handling

Launch logistics coordinate with the commercial director's office, the Marketing area, and the HR team for the internal kick-off. For CDMX internal kick-offs we handle venues such as Hotel Four Seasons, Hotel St. Regis, Centro Citibanamex, Expo Reforma, WeWork corporate. For Monterrey: Cintermex, Pabellón M, Hotel Hilton Midtown, WeWork corporate. For Guadalajara: Expo Guadalajara, Hotel Hilton Midtown, Hotel Riu. For Querétaro: Centro de Congresos, Hotel Misión, Holiday Inn Juriquilla. For trade launch at point of sale: anchor store of the national chain, corporate showroom, regional distributor showroom. Venue reservation is quoted separately by the corporate and signed 60 to 90 days before the launch.

Launch inventory handling operates in three phases. Pre-launch (30 days out): production of staff apparel, press kit and trade launch gift bag in national workshop with 8% buffer inventory above the corporate-confirmed quantity. Launch day: delivery of staff apparel to the internal kick-off venue with hotel valet, press kit delivery to the press office under embargo protocol, gift bag delivery at the trade launch with table check-in. Post-launch (5 to 7 days after): delivery of regional opening gifts to corporate clients with insured courier and signature confirmation, distribution of opening-staff uniform per store with regional coordinator, production of additional gifts for clients who could not attend the original trade launch.

For corporates with USMCA operations at the border north (Tijuana, Juárez, Nuevo Laredo, Matamoros) we also ship in USD with invoicing in MXN at the Banco de México exchange rate of the day and support for IMMEX deduction when the launch ties to a US export programme under USMCA origin rules. For corporates with Bajío operations (Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, León) we ship directly to the anchor store with night-hour window and coordination with the store manager. For corporates with Sureste operations (Mérida, Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Villahermosa) we ship directly to the launch venue with hotel valet and coordination with the corporate logistics area.
