France Corporate Event 2026: French elegance runs on mandatory electronic invoice from 2026, Numéro de TVA Intracommunautaire, Loi AGEC against waste, and gifts where champagne is the floor, not the ceiling

France operates under the EU fiscal regime with French-specific rules. The Direction Générale des Finances Publiques (DGFiP) administers the TVA (Taxe sur la Valeur Ajoutée) at 20% general (10% reduced, 5.5% super-reduced, 2.1% special for pharmaceuticals and print press). From 1 September 2026 electronic invoicing becomes mandatory for all French companies under the Factur-X format (PDF + XML conforming to European standard EN 16931) with receipt in Chorus Pro. The invoice is issued under the European model with Numéro de TVA Intracommunautaire of emitter and recipient, format FR + 2 validation digits + 9-digit SIREN, valid for intra-community operations exempt under Article 196 of Directive 2006/112/EC (reverse charge / self-assessment). The corporate event in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Lille, Toulouse, or Bordeaux resolves three critical layers. The first is invoicing: EUR facture with Numéro de TVA, 20% TVA (or exempt under intra-community self-assessment), and corporate tax when applicable. The second is regulatory compliance: Loi AGEC (Anti-Gaspillage pour une Économie Circulaire) bans single-use plastic, requires food-waste diagnostics, and combats programmed obsolescence; Loi Climat et Résilience bans destruction of non-food inventory; GDPR (RGPD in French) regulates data protection. The third is gift curation: champagne (Dom Pérignon, Krug, Veuve Clicquot, Moët & Chandon, Bollinger, Pol Roger, Louis Roederer), Périgord foie gras, Brie de Meaux DOP cheese, Bordeaux wine (Pauillac, Margaux, Saint-Émilion), Bourgogne wine (Romanée-Conti, Puligny-Montrachet), Grasse perfume.

French gift curation: Reims, Bourgogne, Périgord, Provence, Grasse

The curated French gift is built with origin-identified products, verifiable AOP/AOC, and Loi AGEC compliance. For executive level we deliver boxes with premium champagne (Dom Pérignon Vintage, Krug Grande Cuvée, Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame, Moët & Chandon MCIII, Bollinger R.D., Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill, Louis Roederer Cristal, Salon, Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque), Périgord duck foie gras (Rougié, Montfort, Labeyrie, Godard), Brie de Meaux DOP cheese (Hervé Mons, Rouzaire, Fouchard), Comté DOP cheese (Marcel Petite, Fort des Rousses), Roquefort DOP cheese (Papillon, Carles, Société des Caves), Bordeaux Premier Cru Classé wine (Château Margaux, Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Latour, Château Mouton Rothschild, Château Haut-Brion), Bourgogne Grand Cru wine (Romanée-Conti, Domaine Leflaive, Bouchard Père et Fils, Louis Jadot), Grasse perfume (Chanel, Hermès, Dior, Guerlain, Molinard), and a tech piece (premium headphones, power bank, encrypted USB) with client logo. Gift price ranges from MXN 720 to MXN 8,500 ex-IVA per piece.

For middle level we deliver boxes with recognised-brand champagne (Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, Moët & Chandon Imperial, Mumm Cordon Rouge), goose or duck foie gras, Brie de Meaux DOP cheese, Bordeaux Cru Bourgeois wine, Ladurée or Pierre Hermé macarons, Valrhona or La Maison du Chocolat chocolate, and a piece of corporate merchandising. For mass level we deliver kits in canvas tote bag with stainless thermos, reusable bottle, macarons, chocolate, and event POP material. The curation rule: every gift has an identifiable producer, verifiable AOP/AOC, and Loi AGEC compliance (no single-use plastic).

Printed material is delivered in French. Executive invitations use vous (formal you); POP material for broader events accepts tu (informal you) in some contexts. The brand manual is respected with per-market application tolerance: the logo may remain in neutral Spanish or English, but body text adapts to French. Ribbon tapes are produced in brand-manual colours with French text. Gifts are labelled in French with ingrédients, origine, lot, and date de péremption under DGCCRF regulation.

Numéro de TVA, 20% TVA, Factur-X 2026, and Mexico–France DTA deduction

The French Numéro de TVA Intracommunautaire is the fiscal identifier for intra-community operations, format FR + 2 validation digits + 9-digit SIREN. French TVA operates at 20% general rate (taux normal), 10% reduced (taux réduit) for restaurants, passenger transport, housing works, 5.5% super-reduced (taux super réduit) for basic food, books, domestic energy, and 2.1% special (taux particulier) for pharmaceuticals and print press. For intra-community operations between companies with valid Numéro de TVA the operation is exempt from French TVA under Article 196 of Directive 2006/112/EC (self-assessment, the client self-assesses TVA in their country of origin).

From 1 September 2026 all French companies must issue electronic invoices under the Factur-X format (PDF + XML conforming to European standard EN 16931) with receipt in Chorus Pro, the national e-invoicing platform. Non-compliance incurs a €15 fine per non-electronic invoice. For corporates with operations in France, the local component is exclusively issued in Factur-X format.

For the Mexico-based client that receives the mirror invoice of the French component, the deduction operates under the Mexico–France DTA in force since 1999 with 2014 amending protocol. The Mexican client deducts as expense the French proportion if the event ties to the Mexican operation, withholds ISR on payments abroad when the French partner is a French tax resident (the DTA establishes reduced rates for dividends 5%/15%, interest 5%/10%/15%, royalties 10%/15%), and applies 100% creditable IVA on the Mexican component with CFDI 4.0 SAT. For clients with Permanent Establishment in France under branch regime, the deduction operates under specific rules.

For corporate clients with annual recurring events (portfolio launch, European kick-off, supplier convention, champagne maison experience) we offer a master agreement with per-city logbook, monthly consolidated invoicing in CFDI 4.0 + EUR facture with Numéro de TVA, and unified manual under a single binational (Mexico–France) project director. The master agreement simplifies tax deduction in both countries and allows consolidating shipments from origin to reduce logistics cost between 22% and 40% against local per-market purchase.

The model reduces logistics cost between 22% and 40% against local per-city purchase, keeping the French curation and market-differentiated gift.
