Technical onboarding · First day on the plant floor

Corp Pack 22 final: the kit of the technician who starts the maintenance of the new line

Technical plant onboarding is where a Mexican corporate receives between 10 and 80 technicians, engineers and maintenance specialists in a single monthly cohort —the electromechanical technician coming from Querétaro, the quality engineer arriving from Guadalajara, the automation specialist joining from Monterrey—. Corp Pack 22 final is delivered before the first shift with functional technical pieces: technical polo with instrument pockets, 12-function multitool with pouch, high-visibility vest with technician number, 5-meter engraved tape measure, helmet with suspension and an internal-accreditation QR badge. The CFDI 4.0 invoice is issued with key G03 (general expense) under the technical-training line and full deduction as personnel-development expense.

Why the technician needs a functional kit, not a decorative one

The Mexican corporate that rotates technical personnel in the first 90 days loses, on average, between 2.1 and 3.2 months of gross salary on recruitment, specialized training and technical learning curve. Early technician turnover doesn't stop with better HR filters: it stops with a first day that hands over the tools they will work with, identified with their technician number, and with the sense that the plant is prepared for their role. The technical polo shirt with instrument pocket, the multitool with pouch and the engraved tape measure are pieces the technician uses on day one, not ones they store in a drawer.

Corp Pack 22 final is delivered between the Thursday before the Monday start and that Monday at 7:30 am, before the safety briefing. Delivery is made at the technician's locker or in the briefing room with signed acknowledgment. Each kit is identified with an internal serial number that is cross-checked with the HR database to verify delivery and to track the tools that remain under the technician's responsibility.

For corporates with multiple legal entities (typical for groups with Manufacturing, Logistics and Service divisions), the kit is invoiced per entity with separate lines per RFC and delivered in an industrial bag labeled by company. Size and model stock consolidation happens 6 weeks ahead for monthly runs of 30 kits or less, and 8 weeks for mass starts above 80 technicians. The kit also includes a digital welcome letter sent by the engineering area via email with a video from the plant manager when available.

NOM compliance applies to the kit in three ways. NOM-009-STPS-2011 on working at heights is met by the helmet with 6-point suspension and chin strap. NOM-017-STPS-2008 on personal protective equipment is met by the Class 2 high-visibility vest with technician number. NOM-004-STPS-1999 on machinery protection is met by the visible identification of the technician number on the technical polo shirt. Supporting documentation includes technician-signed delivery receipt and photographic record.

How recurring technical onboarding is invoiced

Corp Pack 22 final is invoiced in two modalities. The first is closed-monthly-order: when the corporate confirms between 10 and 30 technical onboardings for the next month, we issue a consolidated CFDI 4.0 dated on the last day of the month prior to start. The second is annual contract with fixed unit price and invoice issued against effective delivery each month, with payment complement at 30 days when applicable.

The USO CFDI depends on the tax regime of the receiving entity. For General Regime, it is billed with key G03 (general expense) when the kit is delivered as part of the technical induction process. For RESICO, it is billed with the same key because the technician is registered with IMSS from day one. Validation with the accounting area happens before the first batch to confirm the correct key and the specific expense account.

The 16% IVA is broken down per line in the CFDI 4.0. For deliveries to the free zone (typical of IMMEX corporates in Baja California, Tamaulipas or Sonora), IVA is calculated at 0% rate and the Free Zone complement is attached with SAT authorization number. For deliveries with inter-state Carta Porte (typical of corporates with plants in different states), the Carta Porte 3.0 complement is attached with carrier data.

CFDI cancellation or correction is processed within 24 hours of the request. For size changes after the kit is delivered, we manage replacement with additional charge and new CFDI for the additional piece. The kit not delivered due to technician resignation before the first day is charged only if the order confirmation was signed by the HR area 5 business days in advance.

Sizes, specialties and stock curve

The technical polo size curve is built from the confirmed technician list. For 30 monthly technical onboardings, the curve is CH 8%, M 25%, G 30%, XG 22%, XGG 10%, with XG and XGG in backup stock for replacements. For technicians with mandatory uniform (maintenance, instrumentation, quality), the curve concentrates on M, G and XG.

The technical specialties that require differentiated kits are: electromechanical (with multitool with ammeter), instrumentation (with additional pressure calibrator), quality (with additional measurement kit), automation (with additional digital multimeter), electrical maintenance (with non-contact voltage detector). Each specialty adds 0.3 to 0.5 kilos to the base kit and is billed separately with key G03 under specialized technical training expense.

Base polo and vest colors are selected in the first order and maintained stable to build plant identity. The most common combinations in Mexican plants are: navy polo + yellow vest + white helmet for electromechanical technicians; Oxford grey polo + orange vest + yellow helmet for instrumentation and quality; black polo + yellow vest + blue helmet for electrical maintenance.

For plants that rotate technical personnel frequently (seasonal maintenance, project contracts), we manage rotating stock in the warehouse with biweekly replenishment. The plant pays the kit only when onboarding is confirmed, with no minimum monthly volume commitment. Logistics operates with standard courier (Estafeta, Paquetexpress) and 3 to 5 business day delivery to any state of the republic.

Pricing, MOQ and lead times

Prices in MXN before 16% IVA. Corp Pack 22 final starts at MXN 3,450 per unit from MOQ 20. At 40+ kits monthly the price drops to MXN 2,990. At 400+ kits annual contract with monthly deliveries the price drops to MXN 2,680 with reserved safety stock in our Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara warehouses. CFDI 4.0 is issued at month close with full deductibility under technical-training expense.

Production lead time is 15 to 18 business days for kits with personalized embroidery and engraved multitool. Runs above 60 kits need 20 to 25 business days with a schedule locked 4 weeks before the first Monday start. Plant delivery happens the Friday before the Monday start between 9:00 and 14:00 with the technical HR area's sign-off. Technician-locker delivery uses tracked courier with individual delivery confirmation.

For corporates with IMMEX operations in the free zone, the kit is assembled in Tijuana or Monterrey with cross-border delivery in 24 to 48 hours and Carta Porte with 0% IVA rate. For corporates with multiple legal entities and centralized HR, we manage a consolidated kit with breakdown per entity on a single invoice with separate lines per RFC.

FAQ — Corp Pack 22 final

Can you differentiate the kit by technical specialty?

Yes. For electromechanical we add a multitool with ammeter; for instrumentation we add a pressure calibrator; for quality we add a measurement kit; for automation we add a digital multimeter; for electrical maintenance we add a non-contact voltage detector. Each specialty adds 0.3 to 0.5 kilos to the base kit and is billed separately with key G03 under specialized technical training expense. Specialty confirmation closes 7 business days before delivery.

What happens if the technician resigns before the first day?

If the corporate cancels 5 or more business days in advance, the kit is not charged. If they cancel less than 5 days ahead, 50% of the kit is charged because production is already in process. If the corporate confirms resignation after the kit is delivered, no return is accepted and the kit is charged in full. Replacement due to incorrect size is handled with a new kit at a preferential price.

Can you deliver in the free zone at 0% IVA?

Yes. For IMMEX corporates in Baja California, Sonora or Tamaulipas, we deliver in the free zone with CFDI at 0% rate and Free Zone complement attached. The Carta Porte is issued with origin at our Tijuana warehouse and destination at the client plant. For IMMEX with delivery to the technician locker within the free zone, we maintain 0% rate with home complement.

Does the kit comply with NOM for plant work?

Yes. NOM-009-STPS-2011 on working at heights is met by the helmet with 6-point suspension and chin strap. NOM-017-STPS-2008 on personal protective equipment is met by the Class 2 high-visibility vest with technician number. NOM-004-STPS-1999 on machinery protection is met by the visible identification of the technician number. Supporting documentation includes technician-signed delivery receipt and photographic record.

Can you include additional uniforms for plant administrative staff?

Yes. For administrative and technical supervision profiles, we add to the package an executive work shirt with sport collar, dress pants, safety shoe with toe cap and anti-perforation sole, and white gown when the area requires it. The administrative kit is quoted separately with NOM-017-STPS compliance and segregated invoicing from the technical kit for correct deduction.

Do you handle kits for technicians in full home office?

Yes. For technicians with home office policy (typical of remote plant support), we deliver the kit to the technician's home with tracked courier and delivery confirmation. Packaging is adapted to withstand transport without damage. For technicians in cities without express courier coverage, we manage delivery via DHL or FedEx with additional charge. The digital welcome letter replaces in-person plant delivery.
