Buen Fin and Black Friday in the Mexican retail calendar

Buen Fin is the most important commercial event on the Mexican calendar. Created in 2010 as the Mexican counterpart to the American Black Friday, it is held during four days in November (typically the third weekend) and brings together more than 100,000 Mexican companies with discounts ranging from 10 to 70%. The 2025 Buen Fin's accumulated sales volume was $495,000 million MXN and Buen Fin 2026 is expected to exceed $560,000 million MXN according to CONCANACO.

American Black Friday is held the day after Thanksgiving Day and has taken root in Mexico as a complement to Buen Fin. Mexican online stores and international marketplaces (Amazon Mexico, Mercado Libre, Liverpool, Coppel) run aggressive discounts throughout the weekend. The Mexican consumer buys during Buen Fin with credit card (typically 12 or 18 months without interest) and takes advantage of Black Friday for international purchases.

The Mexican retail corporate that participates in Buen Fin and Black Friday must comply with specific PROFECO (Procuraduria Federal del Consumidor) requirements on advertising, prices and warranties. PROFECO verifies that prices advertised during Buen Fin are genuine discounts and not inflated to fake the promotion. The corporate that breaks the rule faces fines from $300,000 to $3,000,000 MXN and adverse publicity in the media.

The corp 110 final bundle equips the Mexican retail corporate for PROFECO compliance and the successful operation of Buen Fin and Black Friday. The promotions and discounts manual covers PROFECO requirements, SAT rules for invoicing promotions and Mexican retail best practices. Training the customer-service team reduces complaints to PROFECO and improves the corporate's reputation.

How Buen Fin launch is invoiced

The corp 110 final bundle is invoiced under CFDI use key G03 (general expenses) with line-by-line breakdown. The deductibility runs under Article 27 LISR as an expense strictly indispensable in commercialisation operations. For corporates under the RESICO or REPECO regime, the deduction runs under the same article as long as the expense is tied to the retailer's business purpose.

The uniform and POP material are invoiced with key E48 (work equipment) or H89 (goods not covered) depending on the piece. The manual and teaching material are invoiced with key H87 (training) or P01 (to be defined). The backpack and flask are invoiced under key E46 (product not classified). The DC-3 certificate is attached to the training file. The invoice includes line-by-line breakdown with unit value, 16% IVA and total.

For corporates with interstate stores, delivery of the material runs with Carta Porte 3.0 when the material crosses state borders. For deliveries in the same city, the shipment runs with simplified Carta Porte or without Carta Porte when the shipment is below $5,000 MXN. The free-zone corporate invoice runs with 0% IVA in export operations with the Free Zone complement.

The corporate with an annual Buen Fin and Black Friday programme issues one invoice per commercial event. The invoice breaks down by store, date, number of trained staff and individual amount. The deductibility runs under the same Article 27 LISR regardless of frequency. The supporting documentation includes the HR-signed employee list, the DC-3 training certificate, and the commercial-event sales report.

PROFECO, Black Friday and the Mexican retailer's compliance

PROFECO supervises that Buen Fin and Black Friday promotions comply with the Federal Consumer Protection Law and NOM-028-SCFI-2007 on commercial practices. The standard obliges the retailer to display the original price and the promotion price, not to condition the sale on the purchase of another product, and to respect the consumer's right of return. Omission triggers a fine from $300,000 to $3,000,000 MXN and adverse media publicity.

The SAT supervises the invoicing of promotions. The retailer offering a direct discount invoices with the post-discount amount and breaks down the discount on the CFDI 4.0. The retailer offering interest-free months does not modify the CFDI amount but operates with the Payments complement when the client pays in instalments. Omitting the Payments complement triggers a validation error and the client cannot deduct the payment.

Buen Fin and Black Friday have specific rules for e-commerce. The retailer selling through a marketplace (Amazon Mexico, Mercado Libre, Liverpool online) must display the total price with shipping included, not send unsolicited advertising (spam), and comply with the Federal Law for the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties. The spam fine runs from $5,000 to $500,000 MXN per unsolicited message, depending on severity and recidivism.

The retailer's customer-service team is the first line of defence against consumer complaints. The training in the corp 110 final bundle covers the service protocol, complaint handling, supervisor escalation and conflict resolution. The retailer that invests in customer-service training reduces complaints before PROFECO by 40 to 60% and improves reputation on social media and review sites.

FAQ — corp 110 final bundle

Does the uniform match the Buen Fin image?

Yes. The uniform follows the official Buen Fin 2026 image published by CONCANACO. The embroidery uses industrial-wash-resistant polyester thread. For corporates with their own image we run a version with the corporate logo and a Buen Fin 2026 patch. The uniform is delivered in a transparent plastic bag with the employee name and store number.

Is the DC-3 certificate valid for commercial training?

Yes. The DC-3 certificate credits the training before the STPS and serves as support in case of a PROFECO inspection or SAT audit. For corporates with annual training, DC-3 additionally deducts under Article 27 LISR as a training expense and under Article 40 LISR as a Buen Fin pre-operating expense. The training is valid for 1 year and renewed annually.

Can you train the store team virtually?

Yes. Buen Fin and Black Friday training runs in-person (4 hours in store or classroom) or synchronous virtual (4 hours via Zoom or Teams). The virtual version includes the same materials and the same DC-3 certificate. The virtual advantage is that the store team does not travel to the corporate site. The disadvantage is that practical exercises are limited to simulations.

How is training invoiced for interstate stores?

For corporates with interstate stores, Buen Fin and Black Friday training is invoiced under CFDI 4.0 with the services operation key when the instructor travels to deliver it. Delivery of material to different cities runs with Carta Porte 3.0. The invoice for the material is attached to the corporate's fiscal file. The deductibility runs under Article 27 LISR as commercial training expense.

Do you have marketplace versions?

Yes. For corporates selling through a marketplace (Amazon Mexico, Mercado Libre, Liverpool online), we run a kit version with specific training on e-commerce, order handling, shipping logistics and digital customer service. The training lasts an additional 6 hours and covers NOM-151-SCFI-2016 on commercial messages and the Federal Law for the Protection of Personal Data.

Can you include POP material and advertising?

Yes. The corp 110 final bundle includes printable POP material (posters, banners, window decals) compliant with NOM-028-SCFI-2007 on commercial practices. For corporates with in-house design we run editable templates in AI, PDF and PNG. For corporates without a design area, our design team adapts the Buen Fin 2026 image to the corporate identity with a differential quote.
