Basic bundle: the first merch a new corporate tries

The basic bundle exists because a new corporate's first order follows a different logic than recurring orders. The client doesn't yet know what quality to expect, which colours they prefer, which sizes work, or how the supplier behaves. That's why the basic bundle runs with three curated pieces of proven quality (polo, thermos, notebook), MOQ from 25 units, 1-colour logo personalisation, simple but presentable packaging, deductible CFDI 4.0 invoicing, and standard delivery timeline of 10 to 14 business days. It's the order that tests whether the corporate and the supplier understand each other before moving to a larger program.

Why the first order has to be small

When a Mexican corporate contacts us for the first time, they have usually already been through two or three informal suppliers who let them down: the one who made the shirt with uneven screen-print, the one who disappeared without delivering half the order, the one who didn't stamp the invoice. The corporate arrives expecting that we will let them down too, and what they want is a small first order that lets them to verify we deliver. If we deliver, volume goes up; if we fail, they move on.

That trial logic explains why the basic bundle runs with low MOQ (25 pieces), curated pieces (three products that don't fail), and realistic timeline (10 to 14 days). The corporate doesn't need us to deliver in 3 days with 500 pieces; they need us to deliver in 10 days with 25 pieces of consistent quality. Consistency on the first order is what opens the door to recurring orders.

The basic bundle also works for corporates that already have a regular supplier but want to test an alternative. It's the order placed in parallel to compare quality, timeline and service. If the corporate is happy with the alternative, they split the next order between the two suppliers to reduce supply-chain risk. If they're not happy, they go back to their regular supplier and we haven't lost much.

Another recurring case is the corporate that needs merch for a one-off low-volume event. An SMB attending its first regional fair for the first time, a consumer brand launching to market, a professional-services firm organising a year-end event. For all of them, the basic bundle is enough: three pieces that look good, deductible invoice, and on-time delivery.

Components of the basic bundle

The bundle runs in a single 3-piece configuration, with the option to add a backpack or tote as a fourth piece. The pieces are selected by field-tested durability: each one holds at least 12 months of daily use before showing significant wear.

Combed-cotton polo with 1-colour embroidery

180 g/m² combed-cotton polo, 1-colour embroidery on left chest of the logo, interior taped seams to tone, tone-on-tone buttons. Collar and cuffs with elastane to keep shape. Sizes XS to XXL with standard curve. Base colour white, sky blue, light grey, navy or black. The garment keeps appearance after 30 washes per the technical sheet.

How the first order is run without surprises

The first order runs with a more careful flow than the recurring order because every step gets documented. The client sends us the logo in vector format or high-resolution image. If they only have a low-resolution version, we offer to rebuild it as vector with a one-time design fee quoted separately. Once we have the vector logo, we generate a digital proof of embroidery or engraving and send it for approval before production.

The physical proof (real embroidered or engraved sample) gets shipped to the client by express courier when they require it. For small series (MOQ 25), the physical proof is charged and credited to the order if the client confirms. For larger series, the physical proof is included without additional charge. Physical-proof approval is the final confirmation to start series production.

Production starts with a 50% payment upfront. For new clients without a credit relationship, we require 50% upfront on order confirmation and 50% on delivery. For clients with approved credit, we handle a 30-day line of credit from the second order onwards. The CFDI 4.0 invoice is stamped by SAT with the client's fiscal data and delivered with the order or by email at the time of shipment.

Delivery runs with tracked courier (DHL, FedEx, Estafeta, Paquetexpress per destination) and a tracking number shared with the client by email. Delivery confirmation reaches the client when the courier registers the event. For deliveries to multiple addresses (typical when the corporate has several branches), delivery is consolidated at the central warehouse and distributed with individual tracking per recipient.

What we learn from the first order

Every first order leaves information we use for subsequent ones. The size curve of the first order rarely matches reality: typically corporates order more large sizes (XL, XXL) than their population actually uses, or underestimate small sizes (XS, XXS). After the first order, we adjust the curve and document it for subsequent orders.

Corporate colours the client declares in their brief don't necessarily match the logo's real colours: the "corporate blue" in the brief can be any of 50 shades of blue. On the first order we validate the colour with physical sample and comparison against the client's brand manual. When the client has no brand manual, we help them define corporate colours for future orders.

Embroidery or screen-print type also gets adjusted after the first order. The client may prefer compact embroidery (small, professional logo) instead of wide embroidery (large, visible logo). Or they may prefer 1-colour screen-print over embroidery for cost or aesthetics. We document the preference and replicate it on subsequent ones.

The delivery timeline the client declares in their brief is usually shorter than the actual timeline needed. The client says "I need it in 5 days" when the actual production time is 10 days. After the first order, we align the timeline with operational reality and avoid promising timelines we can't meet. That early honesty is what builds the long-term relationship.

Pricing, MOQ and timelines

Pricing in MXN before 16% IVA. The basic bundle (3 pieces) starts at $890 MXN per unit from MOQ 25. In series of 100 or more pieces, the cost drops to $720 MXN. The optional fourth piece (tote or backpack) adds $320 MXN from MOQ 25 and drops to $260 MXN from 100 units.

Production times are 10 to 14 business days for the kit with full personalisation. Series above 100 pieces require 14 to 18 business days with scheduling 3 weeks ahead. Urgent orders for last-minute events process in 7 to 10 business days with a 30% surcharge on the unit price. The physical proof of approval is delivered in 3 to 5 business days.

For clients that come back with a second order within 90 days, we handle preferential pricing with 8% discount on the first price. For clients with a confirmed recurring calendar (monthly second order), we run a contract with preferential pricing, reserved capacity, and base-piece stock.

FAQ — basic bundle

What is the basic bundle MOQ?

25 pieces for the 3-piece basic kit. 25 pieces for the 4-piece kit with optional tote. Single-unit pieces are not offered because the personalisation and packaging cost is not recovered. For corporates that need fewer than 25 pieces, we run a stock catalogue with generic pieces that get marked in an express workshop.

How long does the first physical proof take?

The physical proof is delivered in 3 to 5 business days after confirming the vector logo and corporate colours. For clients in CDMX, Guadalajara or Monterrey, delivery is 24 to 48 hours. For other cities, 3 to 5 days. The proof is charged and credited to the order if the client confirms within 30 days.

Can you send a digital proof before producing?

Yes. For all orders we generate a digital proof (mockup) of embroidery or engraving that is sent by email for approval. The digital proof is free and delivered in 24 hours. For orders with the logo and colours already validated in previous orders, the digital proof is approved faster.

Can you invoice under another legal entity?

Yes. For business groups with multiple legal entities, we issue separate receipts per entity with 16% IVA broken out. Delivery is consolidated at the central warehouse and distributed to each site. This setup is common in corporates with a parent and operating subsidiaries in different states.

Can you deliver in less than 10 days?

For urgent delivery in less than 10 days, we run express production with a 30% surcharge on the unit price. The minimum lead time is 7 business days for kits without individual engraving. For pieces with name engraving (not included in the basic bundle) the minimum is 10 business days. For orders under 5 days, we don't operate.

What happens if the first order quality doesn't convince me?

If the first order quality doesn't meet the catalogue description, we replace the defective pieces at no cost. If the client decides not to continue with us after the first order, there is no penalty or continuity commitment. The policy is to win the client with the first order's quality, not tie them with a contract.
